Democrat Angie Paccione has come out of the gates with an organized effort in her bid to be the Democratic nominee in CD-4. Click below for the text of an e-mail she sent out to supporters yesterday.
“If we want things to be different, we’ve got to act differently!”
That’s what I said to you back in 2006. We did act, and indeed we have many victories in Colorado and across the country of which we can be proud. Although I’d have liked the outcome to be different in District 4, I consider our race an investment in the future.
The problem, however, is obvious. We’re still stuck in Iraq…we’re still stuck with a veto of life-saving stem cell research…we’re still stuck with millions of uninsured children and adults. And it’s because we’re stuck with the Bush & Musgrave agenda.
To no one’s surprise, Marilyn Musgrave and congressional Republicans blocked debate on Iraq. As your voice, I will be absolutely relentless in pushing for the changes in Iraq called for by the Iraq Study Group, retired generals and the American public-we just can’t afford to wait.
In 2008 the message to George W. Bush must be louder and broader. And that’s why:
I am running again for congress, for ALL of us.
With your help right now, we can end the Musgrave/Bush disaster. I hate to come to you this early, but that is the price of change. I am fully committed to give 100% of my time and effort to work harder and smarter to give the people the victory they deserve.
I too have grown as a candidate. In 2006, we had a novice campaign that had to learn on the fly. But as we gained strength and confidence you and the voters showed confidence in our message and our mission. While we came up just two percent short of our goal-closer than any Dem in 34 years-we also had some remarkable accomplishments:
With your help we raised $2 million dollars
We won Larimer County-home to 45% of the district-by over 9,000 votes
We forced the GOP to spend over $3 million they couldn’t spend against Ed Perlmutter, Bill Ritter and other Democrats.
We gave voice to the real people of Colorado, not the power brokersI am assembling a professional team, and with a much stronger turnout generated by a Presidential election in 2008, I am confident we can erase those two points and make this a Victory for America!
You were an early and trusted supporter of this campaign for change, and for that I will be forever grateful. But it’s not about me-it’s about ALL of us. That’s why I ask you to stand up again for change so that things can be different.
Please take a moment to donate on-line today at: www.Angie2008.com. If you can match your previous donation by June 30th we can show the pundits and prognosticators that we have the tools and the team to win. Together, we can do more than just carry the flag, we can carry the day and provide a voice for ALL the people of Colorado.
Thank you for putting your trust in me. You cannot imagine how humbling your support for this shared cause is to me.

What has Angie been doing since she lost the election? Setting up a professional team to run another campagn is not what I want to hear as a voter. Being a professional politician is not a good characteristic. Please tell me she has been out helping her community.
I don’t dislike Angie, but come on, give me something to like about her.
She was recently in New Orleans doing Habitat for Humanity work:

…hardly enough time to win the Nobel Prize or something.
If he wanted something to like about Angie, all he has to do is look for it.
If I have to play hide-n-go-seek to find the great qualities in the candidate, that person has no shot in winning. I didn’t know she was down in New Orleans. That is something admirable that I respect, and will attract other people to take another look at her.
But just saying, Im in it to win it, is lame (no matter who the candidate thinks she is).
Like I said, I don’t dislike Angie, but she must give me something to like about her other than being “the” candidate.
You must have missed the parts about Iraq and health care. Look, you don’t think she should run for whatever reason, but don’t act like your mind isn’t made up.
But she’s still in the strongest position to take on Musgrave.
I read that paragraph, but it didn’t tell me anything new.
Look, I honestly haven’t made up my mind. I don’t know if I should help out Angie again or go with someone new. Musgrave is putting on lipstick for the ’08 race, and we need to have the very best campaign and CANDIDATE running. I don’t know if voters will be willing to go round two with Angie, but if she thinks they are she needs to come out a little stronger.
I really to want to win CD4, probably more than any other seat in all of Colorado. I might seem a little rough on her, but only because I want what’s best for all of us.
Don’t take this personally, if you are a big supporter of hers, but take it as constructive criticism.

Yeah, here I go again:
I’m predicting that in five short weeks :
Angie Paccione $60,000 cash raised
Brandon Shaffer $25,000 for his exploratory committee
Marilyn Musgrave $450,000. Marilyn is now officially awake
CD2
Joan Fitz-Gerald $515,000
Jared Polis $60,000 most from relatives
Will Shafroth $85,000 with nearly half from relatives
Anyone have any better information as I am just guessing.
and for the last time JF will not raise half a million in her first quarter.
It will be even more interesting to see if she hires competent people to run her campaign this time. She needs people not only who are skilled, but who can speak straight to her.
If she gets both of those I’ll donate to her again. But until she does – not another penny from me. Because I think she’ll blow it again.

For a woman who brags about her Doctorate and hiring professional staff Angie Paccione’s website is a joke.
It is filled with typogrpahical errors. Colorados instead of Colorado’s to name just one. The writing is amateurish and the overall appearance is terrible.
In the meantime Marilyn Musgrave has gotten it together. Marilyn has united the Republican party and will cruise to a big victory in November 2008.
“Marilyn has united the Republican Party”…. just what color IS the sky on your planet?
We need a congresswoman who does not cave in to the radical extremists who are against the war in Iraq! Marilyn Musgrave will ride to victory again, because she knows how to stay LOYOAL to the vital principles of this Nation, unlike the RINOs who are selling out President Bush!!!
Between all the Defeatist Democrats trying to take on Angie Paccione, there is no way Musgrave can fail!!!
http://musgrave.hous…
She’s cavorting (somehow I don’t think Musgrave has ever “cavorted”–she might be more likeable if she tried it though) with Democrats—and bragging about it!
just 12 months ago if someone would have created a spoof page on this blog like the one in the link above as a prediction of what Musgrave would be doing a year later??? Oh, the righteous indignation. If the Congresswoman really has drank the Kool-Aid, perhaps she could share it with her good little soldiers in Colorado — like her eastern Colorado reps. I don’t think “reaching across” the aisles is in Dick Wadhams / Andy May playbook.
by your definition, over 60% of the US is now classified as radical extremist. Yep, keep it up and enjoy that purple sky — and the matching Kool-Aid that goes with it.
Dude, or Marilyn, almost 70% of the American electorate is against the war. That makes you and your goosestepping ilk the radical extremists.
Going to war against an essentially unarmed country that never did anything to us is what’s radical. Radical legally, radical morally.
Does Poloand 1939 mean anything to you?
