From the Rocky Mountain News:
Colorado State Senate President Joan Fitz-Gerald today announced her candidacy for the 2nd Congressional District, which is now represented by Rep. Mark Udall, D-Eldorado Springs.
Udall earlier this week announced a bid for the United States Senate.
“I’m excited to announce my candidacy for Congress and bring Colorado’s record of change to Washington,” Fitz-Gerald, a Democrat, said in a release. “Together we have accomplished a lot and seen many positive changes here in Colorado, and now it’s time for us to help the nation solve tough problems like our country’s health care crisis and getting our troops out of Iraq.”

Joan is on top of her game so far. Should scare off most of the competition.
Every time Amendment 41 is mentioned someone posts a comment that her husband’s dirt is going to come out. Is there anything to this rumor? Or, is it just nonsense being put out by one of her opponents. I’d like The Deminator and his pals to come forward if they actually have anything of substance about Senator Fitz-Gerald’s husband.
is you.
Why don’t you either come clean with it or stop posting a rumor of a rumor.
and uses a lot words he woundn’t want on the air, but other than I’m excited to see what comes out about him.
what a scumball you are
Stop spreading unsubtantiated rumors, it’s prohibited by the site policy. And it’s sleazy.
They’ll have to contend with Kolomitz and MacDonald, who were hired by Polis.
Last I heard they were just hired as consultants for his Amend. 41 stuff, not for his Congressional campaign.
Jared hired Eric Sonderman to handle PR problems regarding A41 and the above folks for his congressional race.
But if this is true, I don’t think it is public information yet.

We had it in late February:

But since then I have heard you were mistaken. Whatever the case, I’m sure we will find out soon enough.
I would be very surprised if they got into a congressional race. the real money is elsewhere.
Usually the Deminator has a comment about the Fitz-Gerald clan. Where is he/she today?
Joan is prohibited from raising money from lobbyists or others doing business with the state. Jared is not prohibited from that. He also can put any amount of his own money with no prohibition. Moreover, the money he spends to ‘tout’ his 41 position is exempt. Moreover, he is using his money to buy hired guns to promote his issue and his name with no prohibition. Is that really good government. Would love to have Common Cause weigh in on that. Frankly, if it was a right wing R, Common Cause would be all over it, but the fact that it is their darling, gives Jare a pass.
Question for all the ‘good government’ types. Is this really good government? I get rich because my hippie parents create Blue Mountain, but I can try to keep others from using their first amendment rights?
lobbyist money for her congressional race.
Amendment 41 cannot override Federal Law regarding campaign fundraising for a Federal office. Laws and State Constitutional Amendments limiting state regulation of federal elections have been repeatedly overturned by the SCOTUS.
If Jared wants to spend money trying it out, he’ll just be throwing out potential campaign cash – it wouldn’t survive even an initial stay hearing.
“implementing state regulation”
