Well, here it is Wednesday…. so what happened with the big announcement from Hick that was supposed to be made on … Tuesday?
Alice (AKA “Alice who?”) is waiting to decide.
Yeah Hick needs to shit or get off the pot. In or out… the longer he sits on the fence… the more it hurts all dems who are waiting to donate and support someone.
Demanator, I totally agree. This “reluctant” candidate crap plays well when running for city council or mayor. Running for Governor is a multi-million dollar proposition, show some guts and leadership. Again and again, Dems across the country and here in Colorado show no initiative. Republicans continually and comically are making profound mistakes, and no Dem is saying or doing anything. Where is the Democratic leadership? Please no one post Nanci Pelosi, Joan Fitzgerald, Howard Dean, Morgan Carroll, Andrew Romanoff, or the like. I just at my breakfast.
How about we recruit Regis Philbin to be the gatekeeper before these guys announce their decision?
It could be beneficial to have someone ask, “Is that your final answer?” and then hold them to it.
I worked for Dean before he tanked. He has great ideas… the Colorado Democratic Party should push someone to run or get out.
Being from Illinois, This PArty here has it’s head up its butt. It needs to be the party for the state, not just a money pit that does nothing but bitch at the people doing the work. It is a JOKE!!! Its really sad when the Dems could not only keep but gain a good number of seats in this state. Yet they do nothing, if Hick waits much longer I am going to just give up on getting the gov seat.
did anyone attend the cd7 candidate forum on sunday? fred brown from the denver post was moderating and there was a q and a from the audeince. Peggy was dry and flat, and ed had some ok responses, but stumbled a few times– not sure where he’s coming from. I thought herbie did a good job outlining his pts and got a few hurrahs, especially on iraq. maybe there’s more to him than meets the collective eye…? coloradolib thought so. bill winter from cd 6 was there too. any chance against tancredo?? if anyone else was there whadya think?

rutrueblue, you analysis of the race is right on. Rubenstein would actually have a chance if he went through the appropriate channels. You don’t just move to a state and run for Congress. Also, Peggy and Ed are incredibily well connected. They need to get serious now however, as you pointed out. This is no joke, as much as I don’t like O’Donnell, he is light years ahead of the Democrats in campaign-readyness.

The State Dems just announced that Jim Turner has withdrawn from the Treasurer’s race. His letter to the party has been published on the Dem’s website until “DemNotes” http://www.coloradodemocrats.org

Nice cut/paste job there, Demanator 🙂
