  1. (I said I’d remind you today…)

Yes, this is a bit of shameless self-promotion…

To all my liberal friends here on ColoradoPols.com, if you want to have a conversation tomorrow afternoon,

I’ll be guest hosting for Luke Shiltz on NewsTalk 1310 KFKA in Greeley, Colorado, from 4 PM to 6 PM Mountain Time on Friday, 11/10.

I’ll be talking about the election, global warming, health care, and more.

If you’re not in radio wave range, you can listen in on the internet at:
    http://www.1310kfka….

If you’re in the area, you can call in at 970 353 1310, and if you’re out of the area and don’t have free long distance, you can call 877 353 1310. If you want to talk (in a civil tone) about the topic of the moment, I’d be glad to hear from you….yes, even liberals.

In case you’re wondering, I am not getting paid for doing the show. I’m looking forward to it, but slightly nervous.

      1. I’ve actually on heard the afternoon show I’m filling in for one time.  It’s basically conservative/libertarian talk radio.  Amy Oliver, from the Independence Institute, has a morning show and she’s more libertarian than conservative. I think Luke Shiltz, whom I’m filling in for, is somewhat more conservative, but not wildly more.

I’m more libertarian and less conservative than either of them.

I hope some of you can listen in and call if you have time and an interest in whatever I’m talking about at the time!

  2. If we were “red” with a Dem statehouse and 4 out of 9 Congressional seats, shouldn’t we be officially “blue” with the statehouse, the governorship, and 5 out of 9 Congressional seats?

Actually, I see Colorado and other western states just returning to their historical, unpredictable voting patterns.  Westerners have never seen a problem voting for one party or the other, regardless of voter registration.  Some of the most progressive, populist pols have come from the west, as some of them most right wing ideologues.

With the boom in immagration since the 80’s most Coloradoans know nothing about how we could a Love, a Vanderhoof, a Lamm, and a Romer w/o batting an eye.

      1. 4 out of 7 House seats, 5 out of 9 Congressional seats (read: Senate AND House).

I don’t see Colorado’s Congressional delegation becoming less “blue” in the near future…  Perlmutter will have to screw up royally to cause a switch in the 7th, John Salazar looks pretty entrenched in the 3rd after his decisive victory against Tipton, and the 1st and 2nd are pretty heavily Dem leaning.

On the other hand, Allard’s Senate seat is looking very vulnerable in ’08, and we may finally get a good run against Musgrave, too…  Tancredo may or may not leave his seat in the 6th, and if everyone continues to hate Lamborn, maybe we’ll see an interesting race in the 5th again.

As Democratic seats in the State Lege become long-held, we’ll see more and more term-limited Dems there, but if Dems keep their jets cool and stick to common-sense legislation like long-term budget planning and accounting, they’ll keep up their cred with the voters.  For example, the Lege *could* pass domestic partnerships without the Referendum process – but why piss off a majority of active voters by going against their vote?  We’ll see.

  3. After reading how you ‘dinosaurs’ responded to my neo-con Pelosi post  I want to leave these words with you…

I remember when, I remember, I remember when I lost my mind
There was something so pleasant about that phase.
Even your emotions had an echo
    In so much space

    And when you’re out there
    Without care,
Yeah, I was out of touch
But it wasn’t because I didn’t know enough
    I just knew too much

    Does that make me crazy
    Does that make me crazy
    Does that make me crazy
    Probably

And I hope that you are having the time of your life
But think twice, that’s my only advice
Come on now, who do you, who do you, who do you, who do you think you are,
Ha ha ha bless your soul
You really think you’re in control

    Well, I think you’re crazy
    I think you’re crazy
    I think you’re crazy
    Just like me

My heroes had the heart to lose their lives out on a limb
And all I remember is thinking, I want to be like them
Ever since I was little, ever since I was little it looked like fun
And it’s no coincidence I’ve come
And I can die when I’m done

    Maybe I’m crazy
    Maybe you’re crazy
    Maybe we’re crazy
    Probably

I’ts nice to know not all democrats are going to roll over and play dead like some of you dinosaurs .

    1. Where would a person be; what would a person say if they were not able to quote the likes of Gnarls Barkley?

Aside from the stupid vitriol in your last post, what are you contributing?

        1. I wanted people to read the lyrics.

People should also read into who war monger, AIPAC darling, neo con Palosi is.  She minces no words.  For all the theatrics she has pulled off b-rating Bush when push came shove she showed her true colors… neo con.  She will not impeach W.  She will instead …as she says, “partner” with him.  Who’s smoking what here?

Dems who follow the ‘lemmings’ Palosi…Howard Dean’s and you might as well throw in Cheney’s darling the Lieberman’s of the world, are doomed to go down the cliff with them.

MSNBC Poll shows 86% of Americans want Bush’s head.  The Dems could have a field day destroying the Dumbo-Publican party.  Although about a third of their own party would most likely get wiped out with them.  That would not be a bad thing!

BTW- There are a lot of good dems who already want Pelosi out of the way.
          See for yourself here…

  4. When things start going south, which is bound to happen, who is ColoPols and all the rest of the libs going to blame? (Now that the evil conservatives have been booted out)
I know who I am going to blame. And actually, I was thinking a couple days ago how this change will be great for all of us conservatives.
Now that there is a lefty majority most everywhere, we can set back and pounce on ya’ll everytime a Dem is caught with his hand in the cookie jar so to speak.

This is going to be a blast.

    best regards,
    Gecko

        1. steady tax increases, run away social programs, no defense, and even more massive illegal immigration, most Americans will be voting the libs out.

          Guaranfuckinteed

    1. There is a small, very small chance the Donkey-Crats will go after Bush even at their own expense.  Don’t hold your breath.

While you are unfortunately geared up to repeat the cycle and historic blunder ‘blaming the other guy’ give the good republicans credit for showing some back bone and voting against the very ‘liberal’ policies of their own Dumbo-Publican party.

Don’t forget 86% of America want Bush’s head.  That includes republicans.  What you (so-called conservatives) and these donkies should be asking yourselfs is why won’t the donks go after Bush?

So what is it exactly you want to ‘blame’ these Donkeys for????

Helping the neo-cons finishing up what they started?  That would be a great start!

  5. New legal documents, to be filed next week with Germany’s top prosecutor, will seek a criminal investigation and prosecution of Rumsfeld, along with Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, former CIA director George Tenet and other senior U.S. civilian and military officers, for their alleged roles in abuses committed at Iraq’s Abu Ghraib prison and at the U.S. detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

“Sir, you are not being prosecuted because you lost the war, but because you started it.”
    — Nuremberg Judge to ranking Nazi

Let the dice fall where they may.

  6. The Be The Change crowd got to play major roles in the Winter, Gordon and Paccione campaigns. All three campaigns were poorly run and lost.
Where are the hundreds of Be The Change inspired volunteers?
Where are the grassroots activists out to change the party?
Oh, they will go to Greeley and hold up a picket sign a half mile away from the cameras when the President is in town. But, the cruel truth is that Be The Change is a joke.
Any campaign that wants to use Be The Changers on their staff is headed down the road to defeat. If you want to get a dozen people together to  picket the President call Be The Change.

  7. anyone know which candidates/campaigns (rep or dem) are in debt after the election? id love to see a list, and of course i am too lazy to compile one myself!
