It appears Eckels really did step on the butterfly.
Huh?
I had to look that one up myself, as it's been at least 60 years since I read the story:
Yep, and here we are.
Additional Transmission Lines – good or bad idea?
On this the state utility's plans are pretty good.
Not a fan of Hickenlooper's wishy washy opinion on the House bill so far. The Democrats were deliberately frozen out of the negotiations- playing along with the GOP at this point now is pointless.
Can't say for sure which wishy-washy Hickenlooper opinion I've ever been a fan of?
Roger, that.
Never thought I'd take an interest in Greenland's politics, but at least the Democrats there seem to be standing up to Tr*mp, plus they took the most votes in the recent election. And here's one little tidbit of interest:
Can everyone please call our senators to urge them to block the continuing resolution? This is sort of do or die here. I know everything is like that but if the CR passes then congress really loses all of what little leverage they have.

Done.
thank you!
Daily emails, with reference to specific elements of the CR as they are brought to my attention.
Consistent message is — don't vote for anything that doesn't have status quo spending and some enforcement to ensure the money appropriated will be spent as Congress has authorized.
awesome! Do you know if there is any difference in how things are perceived between phone calls vs emails? I have heard that copy-paste emails from websites are not as effective and just get lumped together.
1. I'm not doing "copy/paste" emails … I'm writing on specific elements of the CR.
2. What I've read from NUMEROUS article is that every form of communication is counted … and different offices have different priorities among the types. What nearly EVERYONE says is that signing on-line petitions and the quick sending of messages crafted by an interest group are both widely discounted.
3. With the volume of calls, letters, and email, the Senate is massively impacted. Sen. Murkowski said in early February that ""The U.S. Senate phone system has been receiving around 1,600 calls each minute, compared to the 40 calls per minute we usually receive, which has disrupted our call systems,""
4. I'm betting someone reading here could comment on how Colorado's Senators absorb and consider constituent communication. Anyone in the know want to say something specific about Bennet and Hickenlooper?
In case you have not yet seen the analysis of the inflation data,
BLS release said "The index for meats, poultry, fish, and eggs rose 7.7 percent over the last 12 months as the index for eggs increased 58.8 percent."
Grade A Large, per dozen…. February 2025
Latest Observation: February 2025 $5.897
The current price of 10 free-range natural feed eggs here in the Socialist, Overregulated, Nanny-state of the Netherlands is approx $4 US….unlike the US, the Federal Govt had a quick reaction to the Avian Flu and culled the infected birds before they had a chance to spread the virus. And they're starting to innoculate poultry stock against the infection.
I wonder what the Brain-wormed HHS Secretary will say when someone points this out….
American chickens who get bird flu eat too much junk food and aren't getting nearly enough daily exercise?
Colorado dairy farms face calls to keep workers safe as bird flu spreads among cows
My friends in NE Colorado report that dairy cows are dying from avian flu. It is presumably spread by infected birds getting crushed in combine blades harvesting hay and other feeds to cows. PBS has the story, and is one of the few outlets reporting on avian flu spreading amongst veterinarians, cows, cats and humans drinking raw milk, and others.
Agricultural and dairy workers are kept in the dark ( since they're mostly immigrants, nobody cares if they get sick), and denied PPE. But truck tires coming in and out of the dairies are washed down carefully.
Avian flu is now in your meat supply. Pink eye (conjunctivitis) is one of the symptoms among humans. And anyone overseeing health and infectious diseases, and whose duty it is to warn the public has probably already been fired by Trump/Musk.
The coming public health emergency is why I believe their celebrity-marriage-combo name should be "Mump," not Trusk.
