  1. Be curious…

“When people ask me…What’s gonna happen if the Flip – Flopping, Laughing Hyena Wins??” Zuchowski wrote in his post. “I say….write down all the addresses of the people who had her signs in their yards!”

“Sooo…when the Illegal human ‘Locust’ (which she supports!) Need places to live…We’ll already have the addresses of the their New families…who supported their arrival!” his post continued

Just law enforcement gathering names of political opponents and dehumanizing the people he’s supposed to protect.

Let’s not be judgemental… Let’s gather a list of all

    NO LETS BE JUDGEMENTAL!

  2. Well, at least the Associated Press seemingly has decided to no longer cut Trump any slack.

Donald Trump claimed without evidence Monday that President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’ comments that he is a threat to democracy had inspired the latest apparent attempt on his life, despite his own long history of inflammatory campaign rhetoric and advocacy for jailing or prosecuting his political enemies.

Maybe Mr. Hatemonger, the bible salesman, should take a peek inside and check this section out:

as you sow, so shall you reap

  3. Interesting study on using AI to counteract false beliefs

This Chatbot Pulls People Away From Conspiracy Theories

In a new study, many people doubted or abandoned false beliefs after a short conversation with the DebunkBot.

Until now, conventional wisdom held that once someone fell down the conspiratorial rabbit hole, no amount of arguing or explaining would pull that person out.

But Dr. Costello and his colleagues wondered whether there might be another explanation: What if debunking attempts just haven’t been personalized enough?

On average, their ratings dropped by about 20 percent; about a quarter of participants no longer believed the falsehood. The effect also spilled into their attitudes toward other poorly supported theories, making the participants slightly less conspiratorial in general.

When participants were surveyed two months later, the chatbot’s impact on mistaken beliefs remained unchanged.

While it will never be a panacea, it could help around the margins (on Facebook, etc), particularly among undecided voters.

    1. Or are you talking about the exploding beepers? It's sort of sad that a reference to something that made the world more dangerous generates the question: "which event was it?"

      1. Two sides, both engaged in state-sponsored terrorism at the behest of morally weak and blindered leadership, who have cynically and dangerously decided that nothing is more important than maintaining their positions in power by endlessly escalating warring retaliation regardless of any of the present and eventual future costs and consequences for their own citizens and others.

(My apologies for any confusion. I should have been more clear as to what I was referring to at the outset.)

          1. The extremist clerical goverment in Iran and the extremist Netanyahu-clerical government in Israel.

(My apologies for the confusion. I should have been more clear from the outset.)

  4. Speaking of terror, election offices in Colorado have been sent white powder by people claiming to be "the Traitor Elimination Army". Secretary of State Jena Griswold, who had a baby son two weeks ago, spoke with MSNBC's Chris Hayes about it. CPR and the Denver Post also carried the story.

      1. Will the FBI and / or local police take it seriously? So far, they are not. Griswold has gotten about 800 serious threats of death, torture, or rape, directed towards her, her staff, and her family. Of those, two have been prosecuted.

Election officials around the country have also gotten threats. Only 20 have been caught or charged. So yeah, not taking it seriously. I hope to hell nobody has to die before they will get serious about protecting those who keep our election system working.

        1. As someone who will SOON be sitting about 40 feet away from someone opening the mail for an elections office, I'll be interested to see if things have changed for the national general election.

Given Colorado's archaic election process, with each county having an election office, I'd expect the smallest 10 or 20 would have a hard time doing much more than saying "be careful" ….
