Larry Mizel, Phalanx Of Billionaires To Rub Elbows With Trump In Aspen

  • by: Colorado Pols

Here’s an invite to a fundraiser in Aspen this Saturday so exclusive that as soon as it was discovered on the website of the Orange County, California GOP, it was swiftly removed from view. And don’t worry about actually attending, the event is reportedly already sold out:

Generally speaking, when the minimum ask for dinner seating at a fundraiser is $25,000, it’s not necessary to advertise it with a flyer. Nonetheless this flyer was made and briefly publicized, letting the world know that ex-President Donald Trump is set to be feted by a host committee of extremely wealthy individuals at an undisclosed location in or near Aspen on Saturday. How wealthy, you ask? As the Aspen Times’ Westley Crouch reports, Jeff Hildebrand is the “wealthiest man in Houston,” and Drew McKnight chairs the $48 billion Fortress Investment Group.

The goal of this event is to raise significant funds for Trump’s campaign and the Republican National Committee (RNC). Contributions are split between Trump’s campaign, political action committees, and the RNC. Donations are allocated to the Trump for President general election account, the Trump for President recount account, the Save America PAC, and the RNC, according to the Trump 47 Committee.

A significant local name on the host committee is longtime Trump supporter Larry Mizel, who has controversially backed Trump despite the many moments in Trump’s public record that should give pause to the cofounder of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, an organization set up to “confront anti-Semitism and hate.” Mizel doesn’t talk to the press, and therefore has never been asked to explain how backing Trump fits with the rest of Mizel’s philanthropy.

Although it’s unknown exactly where this fundraiser will take place, the limited number of roads and airports in and out of the Aspen area mean that protesters and MAGA supporters alike should be able to make themselves apparent to attendees if they want to. We hope everyone keeps it peaceful, and please, don’t try to harass the billionaires directly unless you want to wake up on an island being hunted by them.

Instead, go have a drink at Lauren Boebert’s ex-boyfriend’s bar! It might even be drag night.

  1. The billionaires are getting a little nervous, methinks. For many years, the Billionaires' Club did its thing in relative secrecy. Then along came Trump, the Orange Destruction. His support by the Billionaire Boys was instrumental in Trumps' decision to run for POTUS in the first place. How far back can we trace the creation of Project 2025?

But now…the cat is out of the bag, so to speak, and it is being held in the arms of millions of childless cat ladies, among millions of other cat lovers. They are all now aware of the society planned for them by the freemarket kleptocrats hell bent on creating an American monarchy.

    1. Any Mitch McConnell and Lady Graham sitings? Any other establishment republicans who had a million chances to do the right thing and dump Trump but kept on supporting a Hitler wannabe? Our great-great-grandchildren will be reading about this period of time.

    2. Slightly off-topic, but Duke, Amazon has a wide selection of "Cat ladies for Harris" T-shirts, and even a couple for guys.  Just thought I'd mention it.

  2. When you've lost the LDS membership maybe it's time to re-evaluate your cult party?  If this gains traction it'll be the ultimate middle-finger from Mitt to Fat Donnie from Queens.

Latter-day Saints, Democrats and Republicans, join forces to support Harris

There are 2.1 million members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Utah, according to data from the church. It’s the most prominent faith in Utah, which has historically voted red. There are also more than 442,800 members in Arizona and more than 476,000 members in Idaho

    1. Wow! I shouldn’t be surprised, but I am. They know he’s got the morals of an alley cat, but so do plenty of other religious groups who will hold their noses and vote for him.
