2. Meanwhile next door, Rep Jake LaTurner (KS-2), a fellow member of the Sedition Caucus with HoBo and Lamborn, announces he's stepping down.  He plans to serve out the remainder of his term. 
    

   Kansas-adjacents might remember him as the KS Sate Treasure who was "all in" on Gov Brownbacks grand "trickle down" that failed so miserably they had to auction off sex toys to fund government.

4. Team#FreedumbCaucus #FART is on full alert today: 

   House Freedom Caucus members are signing up to take shifts to guard the House floor in order to prevent resolutions they’d consider unsavory from slipping through that could curb their power, per two R sources.

   This Floor Action Response Team (“FART”) aims to guard against a voice vote or unanimous consent vote where action could be stealthily taken against them and their members.

   IE: Resolution to strip Massie, Norman, Roy from Rules committee….

   Just because you’re paranoid, doesn’t mean they’re not after you.

5. After today, only 5 additional alternate jurors need to be seated.  The defense is out of pre-emptory challenges, and this is the result:

   Woman who dislikes Trump’s ‘persona’ stays on panel

   Justice Juan Merchan declined to remove another potential juror who said she was not a fan of the former president’s “persona” but could treat him as fairly as she does her unlikeable colleagues.

   “It doesn’t come down to whether she dislikes your client or not,” the judge said. “I preside over trials all the time involving defendants who are not very likable.”

   In an apt comparison, the judge had this to say:

   For example, he said, “You ask the jurors, ‘How do you feel about sex abusers?’ Nobody says they like them.” But, he said, those people are still seated in sex-abuse cases. “The issue here is not really whether they like the client,” he added. “The issue is whether they can be fair and impartial.”

   The woman was seated over objections from Trump’s lawyers.

6. What’s Greg Lopez’s Chief-of-Staff’s obsession with a product that all Coloradans can consume legally? It’s the same dynamic with alcohol. I do recall a “poorly educated” friend of yours (hint: she’s a carpetbagger running for CD-4) being “ovetserved” at a recent Trump fundraiser. I’d bet she’s no stranger to the plant.

   Using MAGA logic, does this mean you’re “all-in” on higher minimum wages and affordable higher education (one of the best pathways to lifetime earning capacity) as a way to curtail cannabis (or alcohol, your choice) consumption? 
    

   This might come as a surprise to those living under Jeff’s rock but lots of smart people consume various forms of cannabis regularly (it’s a healthier alternative to alcohol).  
    

   BTW, cannabis oil was an ingredient in Holy Oils in the early Church. .

      1. Maybe Johnson has decided to be speaker of the House and not leader of the GOP conference.

         I've said it before, I'll say it again. Former CO House Speaker Russell George had it right when his committee assignments were: 5 Dems, 3 right-wing Rep crazies, and 3 RINOs on each committee.

         Those 3 RINOs were in the catbird's seat.

         1. Agreed. We’ll take the win for now and revel in the performative dumbfuckery from HoBo & Co while the adults do the job of governing. 
             

            Just finished Manhunt last night. Great series.  The parallels between then and now show just how long we’ve suffered these insurrectionalist fools. Andrew Johnson’s legacy, akin to Trumps, are a stain on the grand experiment.

   2. My sibling almost died from multi organ failure due to alcohol abuse. They were in hospice and everything. They miraculously recovered. They now use cannabis daily and I am a-ok with that.
