    1. Agreed, these people haven't a clue about what any of these terms mean. They talk about "Democracy" being the opposite of "Communism." "Democracy," of course, is a political system whereas "communism" is an economic system.

It's one more illustration about that old saying about opinions and assholes.

    1. I read the story you linked to, and when it mentioned Steve Yurash it rang a bell but not a very clear bell. Turns out he ran for Congress (CD2) in 2022 with the Center Party, which is all cool and legal, but I really thought his platform was pretty conservative except in support for reproductive rights.

But y'all can read for yourselves: https://coloradocenterparty.org/steve-yurash-for-congress/

He got 0.8% in the CD2 race, so at least that time he wasn't much of a splinter, but I could see the name Center Party initially appealing to some folks who get frustrated with far-right and far-left. I think the biggest challenge for minor parties really is how their platforms and memberships and electability factors look after deeper considerations, not on the first glance.

      1. Fart in the wind. Anyone who will spend any amount of brain capacity will understand the con. Besides the terrible website. Lyndon Larouche would be ashamed I tell you.

      2. The Overton window has shifted so far to the right that today's "far-left" is probably more conservative than the days of LBJ and the Great Society.

The fact that in Colorado "Unaffiliated" dominates voter registration makes sense if you aren't a party activist, but still are an active voter.

I'm surprised former Republicans haven't reconstituted themselves into a new center-right Conservative Party.  The nihilist radicals that have taken over the GOP across the country are testing the patience of more and more traditional Republican voters.  But, then again, I will never understand why the Trumper message resonates so strongly with a plurality of GOP voters.

        I guess demonization works.

        1. "The nihilist radicals that have taken over the GOP across the country are testing the patience of more and more traditional Republican voters"

Not just that. The nihilists – I like the use of the term – have hijacked the word "conservative" and redefined it into something a true conservative would never recognize.

If Barry Goldwater came back from the dead, what would be his reaction to the fawning over Donald Trump?

Hint: I'm old enough to remember the time he said that Jerry Fallwell, Sr. needed a swift kick in the ass after Fallwell trashed Sandra Day O'Connor for her pro-choice views.

"I will never understand why the Trumper message resonates so strongly with a plurality of GOP voters."

I think aside from his true believes, the agnostics who pay him lip service are motivated by fear of becoming the next Liz Cheney or Adam Kinzinger or Mike Pence. If only there were more Brian Kemps out there but alas …..

          1. "…aside from his true believes[sic], the agnostics who pay him lip service are motivated by fear of becoming the next Liz Cheney or Adam Kinzinger or Mike Pence."

The amoral desire for Power — whatever the price.

  1. Jennifer Rubin’s column today should bring cheer on this somber day for our Republic.

Tribe said he thinks that “the handwriting on the wall should be clear even to the former president: trying to overturn a free and fair election to stay in power even after losing the electoral vote isn’t part of the job description for the federal chief executive.”

  2. From my house in Arvada on September 11, 2001, my ex and I watched the horror of the attacks on World Trade Center on television.  about twenty-eight years earlier we had visited the building which was under construction.  We were in tears.

I now live in the Washington D.C. area.  I had connections to the Pentagon many years ago. I also know a few people who were in the building when it was hit by the plane.  One was in the path of the plane and somehow survived in the rubble.

There are many who lived or worked in NYC in the WTC or nearby, and now live and work in the D.C. area.  There are a lot of people who remember the day more vividly than those of us who saw it on television.

    1. But that would put a big crimp in our ability to suck off of Bone Saw's big Petro Teet so we can maintain our fetish for poisoning the planet with gas guzzling SUVs and big ass trucks.

      AMERICA FIRST!
