Vivek for VEEP?
Trump on Ramaswamy as possible VP: ‘I think he’d be very good’ | The Hill
Just be ready to overthrow the federal government and commit other crimes unless you want an angry mob to try to kill you. Sounds like a sweet gig!
Unsurprisingly, The ColoradoSun writes Denverites are split on whether the Mile High City is headed in the right direction, according to a new poll
I keep wishing there would be a follow up to "right track" "wrong track" polling. How many in the "wrong track" want less and how many want more of various government actions on topics such as homelessness & "sweeps," minimum wage laws, or developing police alternatives?
Exactly I know plenty of people who are angry at Biden for ending abortion. I know people who until single payer is the default they think Democrats have failed.
Right track wrong track doesn't reflect any of this. "Where are the flying cars!"
Sad reacts only.
Giuliani loses defamation lawsuit from two Georgia election workers
“Trial by combat!”
Perhaps if Rudy spent more time taking care of his own electronic records and less time fixated on Hunter Biden’s laptop, he wouldn’t be in this position.
Now, where did I put that tiny violin?
Here ya go. It's a "Fuck you; you're liable" order based on Roodles' multiple, aggravated, egregious violations of discovery rules and orders. The court will hold a three-day trial on damages only.
Roodles is also on the hook for the attorney fees plaintiffs incurred in connection with the discovery disputes. The final amount has yet to be fixed, but currently stands at over $130K.
As always, fuck that grandstanding alcoholic hack.
Who needs discovery when you are making fact-free and devoid-of-evidence claims?
Trial by combat is a lot like trial by ambush.
The plaintiffs in that there defamation case certainly don't need discovery anymore, as 9iu11iani's liability is now conclusively established.
This was sweet. I can’t wait to see Ruby Freeman and Wandrea Moss take every penny Giuliani has. Start with the private plane, the New York apartment, go on from there.
Patriotic democracy warriors, 1. Slimy dirtbag Trumplicker, 0.
Sadly, the two Georgians will need to stand in line with others for Rudy's payments.
Near the front of that line is Judith Nathan f/k/a Judith Giuliani (i.e., the third ex-wife with whom he had an affair while still married to the second ex-wife) who has been trying to collect alimony and assets awarded to her in the divorce.
He has been crying poverty for quite some time now.
Here’s hoping Judith’s attorney tries to garnish whatever $$$ is generated from the September 15 fundraiser at Bedminster.
Ian Milhiser:
Odd anti-school board organization is trying to stir up negativity about the Denver school board. Slick anti-persuasion ads with actresses pretending to be concerned parents.
Their ads are showing up on my FB feed. Checking in on who they support for school board, it looks like some privatization/charter school money.
Trying to steer up negativity? The DPS Board is the definition of negativity.
Only one of Denver Families Action endorsed candidates could be considered a solid charter school advocate. Heck, all District 5 candidates, including the incumbent, have come out for school choice, district charters, and SRO’s.
It’s more that the current theme for the DPS board election is strongly anti-incumbent and there is a very large, “throw the bums out” constituency. Parents want to see a board that tackles the problems of school closures, student performance, and student safety which are all areas the current board has punted on repeatedly. Then there’s the abhorrent public behavior and inability to act like adults.
I'm sorry you feel that school closures are a bad thing but there are too many schools for less and less kids. Some of those schools could become housing.
Bad thing? It’s sad for the neighborhoods affected, but they are absolutely necessary and the longer DPS delays these inevitable closures the more DPS students that are harmed. The current board was cowardly in their avoidance of the issue as DPS will need to close at least a couple dozen schools in the near future.
There was a recent op-ed piece in the Post by Kamwe Spearmen advocating for DPS to take shuttered schools and turn them into housing for teachers. Several other candidates have brought up this idea as well. I think it’s a superb idea.
McConnell appears to freeze while speaking with reporters in Kentucky
I don’t see retirement in the cards for McConnell; I see him answering his life’s calling, that is making regular Americans miserable, until the day he dies.
You're probably right, but damn, the time to hand-pick a successor is now, while he's still able. Legacy certainly isn't a issue. Turtle was new to the Senate back when SCOTUS nominee Robert Bork got run out of town. He vowed retribution back then, and goddamn, did he deliver.
I doubt that he could pick someone openly. He's not liked by Republicans his endorsement would be a kiss of death. Besides it's a difficult question to answer without "well, if the grim spectre of death doesn't come for me in the night…"
I don't like him but I'm sympathetic to his position.
I'm speculating, but I think the short list of possible successors is already on the mind of several Republican Senators.
There are a few hard no Senators — Ted Cruz, Rick Scott.
There are numerous Senators who are widely acknowledged to have next to no intellectual capacity — Coach Tommy, for one.
Just spitballing — but Thune, Barrasso, Ernst, & Moore Caputo seem likely to have some agreement on who moves up and who is satisfied by their present position.
And even after he is dead, my guess is that one of the names on the short list that KY GOP sends to the governor from which he must select a replacement will be Elaine Chao.
Ah, the joys of….
our gerontocracy.
yes. This. Would it kill them to trust someone younger than them? Apparently, yes!
Mitch was experiencing one hell of a SBD brain fart.
