Poor Bobes. She just can't not.
It's true – we spend more time talking about Boebert's speech incontinance than we do on how well Biden has overcome his stuttering.
Doctors Confirm McConnell Had A Stroke After Imagining A Happy Black Person
“We ran some tests and discovered that the senator’s neural pathways short-circuited when he pictured an African American who wasn’t actively in pain or otherwise being violently oppressed,”

Washington Post finds An unlikely Republican steps up to undercut GOP’s Trumpian exploits [gift link – no paywall]
Gonna be interesting as hell seeing how that ultimately shakes out.
File this under “At least he’s not your US Senator”?

Meanwhile, Rome burns.
On the plus side, people are pulling shrimp and lobster out of the ocean already cooked!
Too bad nobody warned us.
Turns out that the "I'm just not convinced on the science" people and the "why wasn't I informed!" people are one and the same.
Dumb and dumber.

I took in both movies last weekend. Enjoyed them both for different reasons, but what I found the most exciting was that people seemed generally excited to be out and around other people. The cinematic experience may indeed be back.
I fully expect a Pols diary on this story about the Anschutz media empire, but it's a very long story by modern standards so y'all can start reading now and maybe you'll be caught up by the time the diary comes out. Moral of the story: news outlet ownership and publishership matters!

Huh. Never thought of putting the words "Trump" and "chess" in the same sentence.
It works if you think of it in the "pigeon playing chess" sense, i.e., he knocks over the pieces, takes a dump on the board, and struts around as though he won.
Yes, most definitely "chess at the highest level"
“How can Deranged Jack Smith bring a case on January 6th., as ridiculous as it is anyway, when I have already won such a case, and been fully acquitted, in the U.S. Senate?”
File that Truth Social comment in the completely overstuffed "It doesn't work that way" file…
I guess if you’re appearing on FOX you gotta’ admire a stable genius Grandmaster chess strategist who stores secret documents and other countries’ antiquities in the boxes in his bathroom so he can do stable-genius stuff with them every morning while he’s issuing the first tweets of each day as he plots new potential grifts while emptying his diapers into the golden crapper?????
I suppose it does qualify as a kind of remarkable when you ponder upon it???
Grandmaster chess … give an interview, insist it be taped, and announce there's a secret document in a stack that you didn't declassify.
Then come up with the lame excuse that the statement was talking about a pile of newspapers, nothing secret about it.
One of my brothers had a college roommate who was a Grandmaster. He was incredibly bright. Trust me, The Screaming Yam ain't one. He would play pigeon chess as described by Genghis, above.
