  1. Scott James gets the top block of Daily Kos’ Morning Digest today:

He ranted about ‘European cheese weenies.’ Now he’s running for Congress

James, as Media Matters documented at the time, declared “the civilization that you know … will be overtaken by those who would like you to practice Sharia law … just by mass numbers” because “the European cheese weenies simply aren’t breeding.” James continued, “You can do the math and see the rapid decline of … civilization,” before saying of the United Kingdom, “Their birth rate declining, the abortion rate increasing. You do the math. You don’t have the sanctity for the life like that, your society will simply extinguish.”

    1. Rep. Boebert inserts HER $0.02.

“We are continuing to block the Biden Administration's ‘woke’ agenda,” said Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., at a press conference with conservatives ahead of Friday's vote.

Turning the must-pass Defense bill into a partisan battleground underscores how deeply the nation's military, a once hallowed institution, has been unexpectedly swept up in the political culture wars over race, equity and women's health care that are now driving the Republican Party priorities in a deepening national divide.

    2. If only the European cheese weenies would breed more ayran children is his real complaint there. Besides the coloreds all making things bad they have to deal with Drag Shows.

Rosendale: We have drag shows at Malmstrom Air Force Base. There are 150 ICBM missiles that are being controlled by that Air Force Base and by these individuals. I do not want someone who doesn’t know if they are a man or a woman with their hand on a missile button

A moral panic doesn’t have “nuance” because that word sounds gay.

      1. Rosendale is the turd in Steve Daines' punchbowl.

Daines is the Republican senatorial campaign committee chair who has recruited Tim Sheehy, a relatively presentable right-wing candidate to run against Jon Tester. Rosendale is threatening to run a primary against Sheehy and in so doing, becoming the Mehmet Oz or the Hershel Walker of Montana.

I said "relatively presentable" because no one can run as a true MAGAdonian in the modern GOP without having a few things in his past that requires some explanation.

Montana GOP Senate candidate's old Facebook includes lewd photos of women, racist costumes, and homoerotic jokes (msn.com)

  2. Continuing a Pols conversation from a couple days ago, maybe. Cornel West went on CNN, and gave a rambling but pretty well-spoken response on what he'd do with Ukraine, partially paraphrased here on Threads by journalist Aaron Rupar. Not mentioned in the paraphrase is that West also said he'd bring China and African nations into the discussions:

Cornel West on CNN says NATO "provoked" Russia's invasion of Ukraine, calls for "concessions of territory" to stop the war, and says the US "bears significant responsibility." But he adds that he's not "pro Putin," so there's that.

    1. Why is CNN giving this guy the time of day? They need to be starving these vanity candidates. Or let him go where he is wanted and needed:  on Fox or Newsmax.

      1. I almost never watch CNN, but I've read in a number of places that they've turned rightward politically (please correct me if wrong). The interviewer Kaitlan Collins used to work for the Daily Caller before coming to CNN, with the Daily Caller described on Wikipedia as:

a right-wing news and opinion website based in Washington, D.C.  It was founded by former Fox News host Tucker Carlson and political pundit Neil Patel in 2010.

Of course people can change, especially if they change employers.

Disclaimer: I have no reason to suggest CNN or Collins put Dr. West on air as part of a strategy to publicize a potential spoiler.

  3. McCarthy got the votes to pass the NDAA, but once again, he got rolled by his caucus. He gave Empty G a seat on the reconciliation committee to get her vote.
