Pace ran a strong campaign, and Tipton’s errors never got traction. This seat was apparently not winnable — every election cycle you get a few races where you can look back and say that there just weren’t enough movable voters.
Welcome back, BTW. Good to have you.
The better candidate won. It’s that simple.
Didn’t anyone notice that Sal Pace stopped running ads in October, while Scott Tipton had an end game? The new 3rd CD is a lot redder than the old one. A double digit loss is not an anomaly. In fact, Tipton’s margin of victory was the same as Cory Gardner’s in the 4th and was better than Ed Perlmutter’s in the 7th. Tipton will very likely get stronger with a second term.
Keep in mind, Barack Obama got 51% of the Colorado popular vote. The combined vote totals of all GOP congressional candidates across the state, was 53% of the popular vote compared to 47% for the Democratic candidates.
I assume that you think Obama would make a better president than Romney or those other guys.
those nutball West slopers. Damn.
The only race I spent money on and lost.
