This is just downright damned dishonest. It ought to be grounds for impeachment: https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/04/15/matthew-kacsmaryk-law-review/
Indeed lying to get confirmed. Yep he should be impeached and after the decision he wrote this week, its so poorly written AND founded on lies he should be impeached for being stupid. Stupid and a liar = MAGA. Surprise!
If Putin really is battling cancer, as rumors continue to claim, ( and leaked Pentagon docs also suggest), his reckless “capture” of Chernobyl months after Russia’s occupation of Ukraine could have contributed to his risk. It was supposed to have been a “man-made catastrophe” that would weaken Ukraine. Washington Post analyzed possible motives and consequences.
It’s unclear if the cagey Putin was on the radioactive ground himself during this second Chernobyl disaster, but as a high ranking officer of the KGB, he certainly would have visited the site before or after the original explosion in 1986.
Unfortunately, hundreds of Russian soldiers and Ukrainian civilians in the vicinity were also contaminated. Putin apparently did not care. If his health is affected by consequences of his cruel deeds, it couldn’t happen to a more deserving guy.
