  1. Coming next week.  Get your official tickets now, before they’re all gone!!

Now is the time for all REAL American heroes and other good people to heed HIS call!!!!

And, don’t miss our yuge “Best Tactical Costume Awards” ceremony, following immediately after!

  2. For a weekend, non-political, diversion, check out this You Tube channel

    Matt Lee Rolling Stones

He’s got some great clips of the Stones’ European tour in summer, 2022.

  3. I am catching up with last week’s email.  On the 13th, Misty Ewegen posted on Caring Bridge:

After much consideration we have decided to honor Dad with an informal gathering at a place we feel captures his intelligence, wit, and informality – The Denver Press Club.

We invite you to gather with us on April 6th 2023, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm for an evening of stories, snacks, and drinks as we toast the memory of one of the greatest people we’ve ever known.

More details (and RSVP) here: https://www.eventcreate.com/e/bobewegen

I’m not totally certain, but think I will be on an airplane to a family member’s wedding while this is going on.  If desired, someone else will need to coordinate a Colorado Pols meet-up before or after this celebration.

  4. Cringe-worthy only begins to describe this video of “special teapot” Rudy Giuliani doing Cameo spots for a few hundred  bucks each. Bail ain’t cheap; so he has to keep churning them out.

    1. Wrong color shirt. He needs something dark to mask the cheap hair dye that inevitably will run down his face and onto his shirt.

  5. Republican Dystopian Vision of America. Heather Cox-Richardson

Trump’s false and dystopian portrait of the nation takes to its logical conclusion the narrative Republicans have pushed since the 1980s. Since the days of Reagan, Republicans have argued that people who believe that the government should regulate business, provide a basic social safety net, protect civil rights, and promote infrastructure are destroying the country by trying to redistribute wealth from hardworking white Americans to undeserving minorities and women. Now Trump has taken that argument to its logical conclusion: the country has been destroyed by women, Black Americans, Indigenous people, and people of color, who have taken it over and are persecuting people like him.

This old Republican narrative created a false image of the nation and of its politics, an image pushed to a generation of Americans by right-wing media, a vision that MAGA Republicans have now absorbed as part of their identity. It reflects a manipulation of politics that Russian political theorists called “political technology.”

  6. Lindy Li (Twitter, Sorry)

In 1968 Nixon sabotaged Vietnam peace talks in order to win
In 1980 Reagan sabotaged Iran hostage talks in order to win
In 2016 Trump sabotaged the United States for Putin in order to win
In 2020 he tried to sabotage Ukraine in order to win

GOP: Fucking America over since ‘68

    1. Now you know some of the morons on the other side of the aisle will proclaim that Joe and Hunter Biden got together with the Clintons, George Soros and Xi Jinping to unleash COVID-19 to bring about the downfall of Trump's Reign of Terror.

  7. Colorado Sun opinion writer Mario Nicolais is a former Republican candidate and supporter, now out of the GOP.  He writes in a column posted this morning:

Colorado’s zombie GOP puts Dave Williams in charge

After [the 2022 election] bloodbath, I declared the Colorado GOP officially dead.

But like a zombie, they rose from the grave, brainless and bloody with no sense of direction. Similar to the gory terrors that inhabit the world of “Night of the Living Dead” — while “The Last of Us” seems timelier, its monsters are too threatening and purposeful for an apt comparison — the Colorado Republican Party simply lurches about in jerky motions looking to feed on red meat.

They initially stumbled through the conspiracy-fueled Boot Barn shout-fest and more recently staggered alone with the election of former Rep. Dave Williams as Colorado GOP Chair. Williams is a fire-and-brimstone politico who has a history of vehemently anti-LGBTQ+ stances. …

The Colorado Republican Party has been dead for some time. It is never coming back to life. Instead, it is doomed to wander aimlessly until put out of its misery. It is a horror show I just cannot seem to stop watching.

    1. Props to Mario Nicolais for vivid writing. Describing the GOP:

But like a zombie, they rose from the grave, brainless and bloody with no sense of direction. Similar to the gory terrors that inhabit the world of “Night of the Living Dead” — while “The Last of Us” seems timelier, its monsters are too threatening and purposeful for an apt comparison — the Colorado Republican Party simply lurches about in jerky motions looking to feed on red meat.
