Coffman has the best ad and the best website in the three contested Colorado districts.
I’d rank Sal’s ad second and Coors new ad third.
Tipton’s website is a disaster. If that is an indication of his overall campaign maybe Pace does have a good chance of winning.
This is a good ad. I may not agree with Coffman on much of anything, but this ad should be effective. Especially during this political cycle when the news has been mentioning the record low numbers of congressional, senatorial, and presidential/vice presidential candidates who have military backgrounds. (Heck, this is the first time since 1932 and only the second time in history where none of the pres/vp candidates have been in the military)
Coffman looks really good in camouflage. I guess that’s why he’s so hard to see anywhere.
Snark aside, I do appreciate that in this first spot Coffman tries to define himself as being (a positive) something — instead of tearing his opponent down as being (a negative) something else.

In other words, I’m proud of my military service, but I’m ready to toss my military values out the door and into the gutte the moment I’m sucking up to a Tea party convention.
Soldiers are entitled to their opinion, just like you. You’re a hypocrite.
Yes, every soldier has a right to an opinion.
But not to say that their mission is something other than what they swore to. How about all those soldiers and vets now on the side of radical right wing politics?

If he’s going to wrap himself up in USMC MARPAT, then he’s got to obey the codes of conduct that the Marine Corps instills and expects from it’s commissioned officers.
An opinion would be “I think that President Obama’s use of unrestricted drone warfare outside of AFPAK shows a serious lack of consideration for due process.”
What LtCol Coffman said was “I don’t think the CiC is an American,” which is a violation of Article 88 of the UCMJ – Contempt toward officials.
He can’t have it both ways – if he wants to be a Birth nut so he can suck Teabagger balls, then go for it.
Is everyone required to serve in the military supposed to be silent about politics forever? Are you willing to apply this standard to everyone at VoteVets?
If Coffman is going to bank his entire political campaign that “he’s a Marine” then he gets to live the WHOLE lifestyle, and not just the bitchin’ uniform.
BTW, Now that you’ve answered this question, when are you going to get around to explaining the RomneyBot’s stance on Veteran’s issues? On his dire insult in being the first Presidential candidate since 1952 to not to recognize forces deployed in combat?
The Hoffman Heights sign is from an old Aurora shopping center at the corner of Peoria and 6th avenue, about a mile from the new Anschutz Medical Campus. Exactly where he and I grew up. Not a surprise. Will appeal to the old Aurora crowd that is still around.

By the way, if you talk to Mr. Coffman (I mean if he’s a real person, since so few people can attest to meeting with him), tell him to reply quickly or not at all to Emails.
Sending an identical Email to me twice in reply to two separate Emails I wrote to him, weeks, weeks after I wrote to him–lame, very, very lame.

On one end, it is crime-ridden and a little seedy. On the other end are homes that cost more than a million dollars apiece. It is urban, ex-urban, suburban and rural in parts. More than 50 languages are spoken in Aurora. It crosses three counties. It is incredibly diverse in every way you can imagine — socioeconomically, ethnically, religiously, racially, educationally, etc.
NPR got it wrong.
It will appeal to the military voters and to elderly people. There are huge numbers of military voters in CD6. That’s always been Coffman’s base.
It’s unfortunate someone like Coffman can be dressed up and perfumed to look patriotic. How could someone whose votes are bought by multinational companies know anything about the American values of democracy, freedom, family, integrity and diversity?
