I think we’re deep into “Rule of Holes” territory.
the rule is the winner must have a majority of those casting votes for a name. If the Democrats continue to name Jeffries, Republicans would need to have 213 who vote for the name and everyone else voting present or not voting.
In a few of the pre-Civil War Speaker elections, there eventually was a willingness to change the rule and allow a person to win with only a plurality of the vote.

The problem is that the wrong people would be prepared to withhold their votes. None of the 20 in the screwball caucus would do that. The only ones who would do it are “My Kevin’s” supporters which makes the whole idea counterproductive – and if enough did it, would elect Jeffries.
Lindsey should support Puerto Rico statehood as then Alabama or Mississippi would no longer be at the bottom of the state success metrics’ rankings.
No statehood for DC until it gets back the land it used to own in Virginia. Retrocession was a terrible idea in 1847. The traitors should have been forced to return it in 1865.

It would be funny if this meme were updated every time a vote was made. The first version I saw only had 2 McCarthy's and 4 speakers. The next had 4 McCarthy's and 8 speakers. This one has 5 McCarty's and a mix of speakers and Capitol buildings. I am definitely seeing a trend.
