Boyles, who rejects "birther" label, to interview top Colorado "birthers" tomorrow

( – promoted by Colorado Pols)

In a promo for his show tomorrow morning, Peter Boyles is promising to interview the five men identified by Denver Post Editorial Page Editor Curtis Hubbard as “Colorado’s 5 Most Prominent and Passionate Birthers.”

The “passionate” part is a direct reference to Rep. Mike Coffman, who told KHOW last week that, with respect to birthers: “God bless people who do that. I understand their passion.”

So, if you disregard Hubbard’s advice to “pay attention to [Colorado’s top 5 birthers] at your peril,” you might tune to the KHOW birther fest tommow.

It will feature John Sampson (who believes Obama is using the Social Security number given to another citizen in 1977); Col. Greg Hollister (who may have broken the law in pursuit of Obama’s Social Security number); Phil Wolf (who’s erected a series of anti-Obama billboards at his car dealership in Wheat Ridge), and Terry Lakin (who refused Army deployment due to his birther beliefs).

And, of course, you’ll also get to hear Hubbard’s number one Colorado birther, Peter Boyles himself.

If you listened to Boyles today, you know he’s been joking, in between his jabs at Hubbard, Obama, and others, about how much he loves being “number one.”

Does this mean he’s okay with being called a “birther?”

“Birther is a term that was given, not accepted,” he told me. “In other words, the term came from guys like you. I never called myself a birther.”

Boyles made no mention of Coffman being on tomorrow’s show, but that’s not surprising because Boyles has been calling him a “weenie” for apologizing for his birther comments about Obama.

Wolf, of birther billboard fame, had a similar response when asked if he calls himself a birther. “Of course not,” he said. “I’m a thinker. I ask questions. Maybe we haven’t been dumbed down like so many people have been. I question a lot of things. If there’s not an answer, the question lingers.”

  1. Maybe he can be your BFF friend again…..

He also spent part of his show berating you for some kind of contest to visit the  hospital in which Obama was “supposedly” born….only the prize was never awarded or some such nonsense…..

    What was that all about??

      1. Boyles has dedicated numerous shows to this.

To what? The contest that never had a winner?

If you don’t know I was being sarcastic, JS, then how can you evaluate what you hear on the airwaves?

        1. was being a bit sarcastic?

You can listen to them, if you want. They are on his website.

If you don’t know for certain, then how can you evaluate what you hear (or don’t hear, in this case) on this site (or on the airwaves too, for that matter . . .)

(I wonder if I’m being sarcastic?)

  2. certainly not “must hear radio” with this cast of American Idiot amateurs.  Since when does racism & bigotry deem one a “thinker” let alone worthy of our public airwaves?

Wolf, of birther billboard fame, had a similar response when asked if he calls himself a birther. “Of course not,” he said. “I’m a thinker. I ask questions…

A contempible Used Car huckster that scams innocents on trade-ins and title fees thinking his racism makes him a political Socrates is golden.  It just took the election of our first black President for Wolf to bless us with his thoughts.

  3. I’ve listened to Boyles since before the Berg days.  I had to stop for a year or so when he wouldn’t let go of the blue dress issue, and now any time he goes birther, it is off again for a month or so till I can stomach trying his show again.  Too bad, because when he is on local issues, or the greater philosophy, and history, he is the best

  4. The guy’s an idiot. For some reason, he gets a lot of air time on Pols. Why? The way idiots (shock jocks) make money for radio stations is getting people like us to complain about them. Why not just listen to Progressive Radio or use your mp3?

    1. I’m grateful for Jason. Back when there was only rightwing radio, I used to listen to Rush and the like to make sure I knew what was going on in the rightwing and so I could know what lies to refute around the proverbial watercooler or the Thanksgiving Turkey. But, over the years, I’ve gotten less able to stomach these shows for more than a few minutes.

So, I consider Jason my own local version of Media Matters. He listens to all the stuff that would give me ulcers or put me in the cardio wing of the hospital and then reports on it so I don’t have to. I won’t be listening to Boyles show but I’m glad to hear what these shows are talking about.

And for an added bonus, I now know where I will NOT be buying my next car.

      1. I still enjoy listening. And I have the luxury of picking topics that interest me. You hate to shine any sunlight, even a dim one like mine, on someone who’s fishing for ratings, but that’s not always the case, and when it is, it’s worth it, as Ralphie says. But I understand why some people say I should focus elsewhere.
