  1. Danny Moore's "rural" experience must be paying off.  The board he joined at the end of November 2021 controls a company with good news for investers:

DENVER (AP) _ Farmland Partners Inc. (FPI) on Tuesday reported a key measure of profitability in its second quarter, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier. The results met Wall Street expectations.

The Denver-based real estate investment trust said it had funds from operations of $1.1 million, or 2 cents per share, in the period.

Senate Republicans signal support for same-sex marriage bill

Tony Perkins, president of the socially conservative think-tank Family Research Council, has cautionedthat support for the Respect for Marriage Act could “eat into the margins the GOP needs in November,” referring to the upcoming midterm elections. “If Republicans want to stick their finger in the cultural winds to decide where they stand on timeless truths, then they are throwing away everything the American people have come to respect about today’s party—their courage, their common sense, their conviction,” Perkins wrote. Read more.

    1. There’s no link (email from Christian Post).  Meant to include the opening paragraph:

On the heels of the Democrat-controlled House passing the "Respect for Marriage Act" last week, at least five Senate Republicans have indicated that they plan to support the measure. Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, Thom Tillis, R-N.C., Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, and Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., are reportedly in favor of backing the same-sex marriage bill, with several other Senators undecided. Meanwhile, CNN's Manu Raju has listed Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., and Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., as confirmed "Nos." Sens. John Cornyn and Ted Cruz of Texas, along with Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., Sen. James Inhofe, R-Okla., and Sen. Roger Wicker, R-Miss., responded to CNN’s inquiries about their position on the bill by characterizing themselves as probable or definite "Nos."

  3. Miss Lindsey cracks me up. Is the senator from South Carolina afraid that voting for marriage equality might out him? Poor old thing. That ship sailed long ago.
