  1. Listening to the news about the J6 committee, it is obvious the OD and Bannon are trying to con the committee into giving Bannon a pulpit to deliver his swill.

I seem to recall hearing a couple of committee members saying they were disinclined to do so. Bannon should agree to the same testimony procedures as everybody else.

    1. Not sure who OD is but I’m pretty sure that the J6 committee are not going to be conned by Bannon.  The better bet is that they know exactly what questions they want to ask and probably already know the correct answer.  Cummings, Chenney et al are on a mission and have Bannon in their sights.

    1. No. The average voter does not follow the strategic and tactical conflict at play. They are easy prey for Bannons' clever rhetoric. This not a court.

Following your logic…let's let Trump, be Trump…and hand the microphone to Heinrich Himmler.

      1. …or hand it to #BangBang.

You have to admit she takes “when facism arrives it will be cloaked in a flag and carrying a Bible” to a whole new level.

I reckon this means Jayson will be tithing his oil and gas bribes? (unless they are fully exempt under the White Prosperity Jesus clause in the Fossilonian Bible).

        1. I know she was a high school drop-out, but didn't she make it through Junior year American history? Separation of Church and State is part of the curriculum.

          1. Don’t know what the GED social studies exam consisted of for LaBo in ‘04, but now it’s heavy on important dates, historical eras, and wars/ battles, light on actual civics content.

An average immigrant probably knows more about the Constitution than Labo does. The citizenship test is harder.

My latest part time gig is tutoring adults for GED exams, now called “HiSet”.

Edit: My bad…i forgot that she actually took it in 2020 prior to running for office. So it would have been the modern exam.

          1. I find it irritating as hell that the deplorables that wrap themselves in the American flag are a lot of the same idiots who support overthrowing our country, but they've never been big on irony.

            1. These are the same morons who wave the Confederate flag and scream about how patriotic they are and how the libs hate Merika.

      2. I'd put Cheney up against Bannon any day.

Besides, the true faithful isn't watching. They're watching their comfort swill on Fox and Newsmax.

    1. Glad to see Condi involved. She has said NFL commissioner is her dream job, and she'd be heads and shoulders better than the empty suit who's there now.

    2. Just what they need.  One of the treasonous Bush crime family who lied the nation into war with Iraq with their claims that Iraq rather than Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan attacked the US on 9-11-2001.

“Mark my word, if and when these preachers get control of the [Republican] party, and they're sure trying to do so, it's going to be a terrible damn problem. Frankly, these people frighten me. Politics and governing demand compromise. But these Christians believe they are acting in the name of God, so they can't and won't compromise. I know, I've tried to deal with them.”

  3. Those who follow the Colorado meatpacking industry may have an interest in the August issue of Consumer Reports.

Front cover article: "Is Our Meat Safe To Eat?"

    1. The MAGA folk don't have to worry about that.

They don't buy their meat in King Soopers, Safeway, or Costco.

If it hasn't been lying by the side of the road for too long, it's safe to take home and cook.

  4. What to do about a Corrupt Supreme Court by Josh Marshall, who is on a tear.

In recent years it has become a commonplace assumption really across the political spectrum that the Court will try to block or restrain any action by a Democratic President or Congress. The only question is what angle it will find convenient to meet the purpose. We’ve learned a common pattern in which a constitutional challenge once viewed as unprecedented bordering on absurd emerges as new constitutional law two or three years later. This is all the definition of an out of control Court operating beyond its authority. The process by which it arrived at this point is one of a deep and profound corruption. It is hardly an attack on the rule of law or judicial independence to seek to restrain those who have so successively corrupted each. The signature of what we should now call the Thomas-Alito Court is that its six to three majority – founded on corrupt actions – has freed it from any feeling of constraint. It’s power is absolute. They can do and are doing whatever they want and appear to believe there is no available check on their power.

    1. What to do?  Issue an Executive Order that, because of the clearly unconstitutional decisions the Six have made recently, that their votes will no longer be considered valid, leaving the nation with a three justice Supreme Court instead of a nine justice Supreme Cult.
