Who Said Joe O'Dea Was Pro-Life? Why, Joe O'Dea Did!

Republican U.S. Senate nominee Joe O’Dea had a lot to say recently in an interview with the right-wing rag The Washington Examiner, including a strong allegation that Democrats are lying about something he says himself.

Here’s the key part from a story published on July 3 in the Examiner:

He said the Democrats are “trying to lie to people, now, telling them I’m pro-life. But I’m not.”

Oh, really?

As we have noted before, this is not what O’Dea said himself when he was on “The Jimmy Sengenberger Show” on KNUS radio on May 7:

There’s no ambiguity there. Listen to it yourself:

O’Dea has also made it clear that he would have supported all of former President Trump‘s nominees to the U.S. Supreme Court; regardless of where O’Dea dances around on the issue of abortion rights, as a U.S. Senator he would have done nothing that might have changed or disrupted the eventual overturning of Roe v. Wade.

As for this interview with the Examiner, we have a hard time understanding what O’Dea is trying to accomplish. Joe O’Dea is already on the record CALLING HIMSELF “pro-life.”

The only thing that constitutes a “lie” in this case is the story that O’Dea is telling to himself.

  1. Well, I understand he isn't QUITE as pro-life as those who would deny care to a woman with an ectopic pregnancy because of "life." Or those who insist an 11-year-old who is pregnant because of an older relative's incestuous abuse ought to carry the baby to term.

But as I understand it, he's right there with the "pro-life" folks who oppose abortions in the later stages of pregnancy. Such as prohibiting abortions for a woman who gets "a diagnosis … that her fetus’s brain was not developing. Because a great deal of fetal brain development happens after the 24th week of pregnancy, there was no way to diagnose this problem earlier."

  2. If liberals want to cry about abortion all the way until November, that's fine with me.

This is not the issue that will decide the election. You're losing on all of those.

      lol

Thanks, chief. That p. much guarantees the right to choose is in fact the issue that'll decide the election. Just ask Sen. Jon Keyser and Gov. Cynthia Coffman; they'll tell ya.
