  1. Watch out for "Commie Mommies." HT Heather Cox-Richardson.

And yet, Republicans who have embraced an ideology that rejects federal regulations and celebrates the idea of gun-carrying men cannot accept the gun safety rules most people want. So they are turning to extremist rhetoric. Jennifer Bendery reported in the Huffington Post that the extremist American Firearms Association warned of “tens of thousands of Bloomberg-funded, red shirt radical, commie mommies all over the Capitol complex.” Its leaders told members to prepare for “battle” at the U.S. Capitol. “They’re coming after us right now,” a fundraising email warned.

    1. I dreamed I saw Rosa Luxemburg last night.

      Alive as she could be.

I said but Rosa, you're a century dead.

      I never died said she.

      I never died said she.

  2. May want to bookmark The BIG Guide: Who's who in the January 6 committee's investigation

Daily KOS writer Brandi Buchman assembled a set of reminders of who has been linked, and how.  Details I may have known at one time, but have lost track of and couldn't pull out.  Here's an example, picked at random … do you know who Kenneth Chesebro is?  The article can tell you.  How about Nicholas Luna?

I'm only sorry there isn't an accompanying set of bingo cards to play on.

  3. Colorado man remains unconvicted.

Steve Bannon's associate, Timothy Shea, had his court date … and it ended in a mistrial.

The mistrial in the prosecution of Timothy Shea was granted by U.S. District Judge Analisa Torres after the jury reported for a third time that it could not reach a verdict on any count, saying the deadlock was “abundantly clear.” They said extended deliberations had left them “further entrenched in our opposing views.”

Turmoil during jury deliberations was revealed last week when 11 jurors sent a note to the judge to say one juror who complained about a “government witch hunt” had exhibited “political bias,” labeled the rest of them as liberals and complained that the trial should have occurred in a southern state.
