Rick Santorum Donor Previously Backed Gay Congressman Jared Polis

…Rick Santorum supporter Bill Dore previously backed the campaign of Democrat Jared Polis, an openly gay congressman from Colorado.

Dore’s $1.5 million contribution to the Red, White and Blue Fund, which is backing Santorum’s bid for the White House, has helped keep the campaign alive.

      1. There was this but it was just a statement in a Joan Fitz-Gerald press release, not a big controversy.

Wasn’t there some story about “Say Hey Kid” making shit up all the time? I seem to remember there being a story about “Say Hey Kid” always bullshitting.

    1. Eric Weissmann donor (Eric Weissmann himself!) previously backed Polis

Heck, didn’t everyone who previously backed Polis then switch to Santorum, or then decide to run against Polis?

  2. Opening Day at the ball park (and baseball is played in a park, never a stadium.

Rox are picked by many sports writers to finish forth in the division ahead of San Diego. But it’s opening day in Denver and hope springs eternal for every team this time of year, so let’s do better.  GO ROCKIES !

  3. Also known as The Grand Inquisitor, Wallace died at age 93, leaving a gaping hole in journalism that cannot be filled.

Wallace had such a fearsome reputation as an interviewer that “Mike Wallace is here to see you” were among the most dreaded words a newsmaker could hear.

Wallace didn’t just interview people. He interrogated them. He cross-examined them. Sometimes he eviscerated them pitilessly. His weapons were many: thorough research, a cocked eyebrow, a skeptical “Come on” and a question so direct it took your breath away.

Wallace’s late colleague Harry Reasoner once said, “There is one thing that Mike can do better than anybody else: With an angelic smile, he can ask a question that would get anyone else smashed in the face.”

    1. I’m sure she had her influence but it was all her son’s doing.  He’s a Harvard/Princeton educated attorney and homeschool teacher (ooh, betcha he’s got cowboys riding dinosaurs in his cirriculum).  Young Andrew is also behind the “Conservative Bible Project”, which aims to rewrite the Bible in so as to remove all the “liberal bias”.

BTW, this site was bandying about the subject of prospectful fem GOP VP names that could help Mittens and we forgot to bring up good old Phyllis.  Here’s a Christian crusader that could ride in (sidesaddle of course) on her white (caucasian) pony and sure deliver some fundamental bona fides.  She’s front & center on the War on Women and comparing her purity to Santorum makes him look like a sailor on a Singapore shore leave.

  4. Found here:

Stupid shit I’ve already heard from several Legislators:

“The State of Colorado doesn’t need to get involved in Veterans’ issues – that’s the Federal Govt’s problem.”

“The VA takes care of everything.”

“Starting this lottery will hurt all the other programs that get lottery money!”

    And

“It’s not my problem, or my district’s problem.”

    Discuss.

  5. File this in the ‘something already known’ file–in Rummy-speak, the known-knowns.

“Keeping people from thinking too much…or just asking them to deliberate or consider information in a cursory manner can impact people’s political attitudes, and in a way that consistently promotes political conservatism,” Dr. Eidelman said in the email.
