If Liz Cheney holds there's hope for the Republican Party.
GA gives me hope that Republicans might shake off the spell.
I'm rarely surprised anymore (shocked, heartbroken, outraged still possible), but to see a Cheney being considered not right-wing enough just blows my whatever-addled mind.
Texas Republicans voted for an AG with an indictment and FBI investigation over George P. Bush.
Cheney not going to win and Trump is going to be Speaker.
What? They're not bringing Madison Cawthorn and his cousin?
They are all going to Wyoming. Where the men are men and the sheep are nervous.
The TetonGOP.com site still says

On the 23rd, the estimate in the Cowboy State Daily was 20,000 people, with Trump speaking outside at 7 pm. On the 26th, the same paper wrote “Trump will speak from inside the arena, which has a capacity of 9,700.” The facility manager “said he did not know why a change was made.” And there’s been a few other changes “People will be able to park at the event at 6 a.m. and get in line for admission at that time. Doors will open at 11 a.m. and at that point “Entertainment” will begin, according to the rally website. Pre-program speakers will begin at 1 p.m. and Trump will speak at 4 p.m.”
And while trying to figure out “the” plan, I also stumbled across an article — Cheney Billboards Welcome Attendees to Casper Trump Rally. Who knew the Cheney campaign had such a sense of humor about the situation?
What did Paul Ryan do? I mean besides tanking his own political career.
Paul Ryan was pursuing his own agenda rather than fully backing the 40 or so members of the Freedom Caucus. And then he didn't fully back Trump's initiatives. And even worse "Ryan expressed support for strong sanctions on Russia in response to Russian interference in the 2016 elections and its annexation of the Crimea."
Assessment when he left Congress:
So, Ryan's tenure provided something for EVERY good RWNJ to object to.

I doubt she's able to win the primary. There were people who didn't like her back when she was looking at running a primary against Mike Enzi in 2014. They thought she had a sense of entitlement and resented the fact that she lived in Virginia.
I cannot believe that I am saying this, but I do feel a little sorry for her. She does the right thing – perhaps for the first time in her political career – and gets blowback. Does she adjust her position? No, she doubles down on doing the right thing and gets more blowback. Even though I disagree with her on about 95% of public policy issues, I have to admire her courage.
Come January, I predict there will be no anti-Trump House members. Mitt Romney, Lisa Murkowski, Ben Sasse, and Bill Cassidy will be the only ones in the Senate with backbones on the GOP side.
Agree with everything you say….but…I wouldn't be so sure about Lisa Murkowski being there in January.
Considering the number of elections won by someone named "Cheney" and the elections won by someone named Hageman OR Trump … I think there is some room for doubt. Hageman has one previous race, a primary for Governor, and came in 3rd, with about 25,000 votes.
Poll was taken May 24-25, for a primary ending on August 16. "The sample was selected from the Wyoming voter file and stratified by geography, age, gender, and vote history to ensure a representative sample of the likely primary electorate. The survey has a margin of error of +4.9% at the 95% confidence level"
Wyoming allows voters to register in a party at any point, then vote. I'm thinking there is NOTHING that would give me much confidence about who is a "likely" voter for this very, VERY unusual primary election.
If Trump is able to pull a full house at his rally tomorrow, I'll reconsider.
The venue for Trump’s “Save America” rally holds 20,000, which is how many the Trump organization expects. The venue staff expect about 10,000. The rally will be competing with high school graduations, a soccer tournament, and a classic car show.
Boebert and Gaetz will speak at the rally.
The 20,000 is the outside area of the facility.
Inside, the manager said capacity is "officially" 9,700 — and several media sites reported it was well filled when Trump eventually was introduced and spoke at 4:40pm. Wyoming papers had a fair number of photos of the people coming … including some who "haven't missed a Trump rally this year" — a whole 'nother take on dead heads.
I heard some of the Trump endorsed candidate's speech. Seemed a bit short on the notion of how the House works … she thinks she'll be able to fight the Department of Agriculture, the EPA, the Interior Department, and a bunch of other elements of the federal government that keep the good people of Wyoming from doing what they oughta be able to do.
When I took Civics back in the 9th grade, it was pretty clear that first term Representatives didn't make too many changes happen. Don't think things have changed all that much.
