If "conciliatory" is what you were driving at, you are precisely correct. There are no more conciliatory words or expressions in my lexicon when it comes to this subject. I have spent, literally, decades listening to everything from equivocating Congressmen to lying oil and gas executives.

Blaming him for all the ills of the Republican Party seems like you are using him as a scapegoat because he is some one handy to beat up. I have relatives who vote straight Republican but I love them anyway. The worst comments I come across are the ones when people aren't friendly to each other. Negev's comments comes to mind. We'll bridge more differences if we treat each other with some degree of friendliness and skip the personal attacks. It doesn't seem like much but it's a start to a better tomorrow.

(AIPAC is the right-wing Israel lobbying group, allied with the Republican Party).

Let's see how Jessica Cisneros does in the primary runoff against Henri Cuellar, who is supported by the Democratic Party higher-ups despite his anti-abortion stance.
Not only that, Park Hill, but when the moderate Dems in marginal districts lose, the shrill voices of the LWNJ should be amplified in the next House of Representatives.
Unfortunately, the GOP has served notice that some of the Squad members along with Maxine Waters and Adam Schiff are going to lose their committee assignments.
No committee work means they will have time to hold press conferences, fund-raising events, and generally make noise.
…only IF the GOP takes the house and McCarthy is elected Speaker. That’s several big IFs.
2 of the 3 people McCarthy wants to remove are established Democratic leaders. Swalwell and Schiff are hardly “Squad” members.

We absolutely need shrill voices supporting:
– Support for a woman's right to choose
– Medicare for all
– Tax increases on the rich
– Speeding up the conversion to renewable energy

It doesn't matter. These things are cyclical. It's 1980 again with Joe Biden cast in the role of Jimmy Carter and Bernie Sanders with his free stuff agenda reprising the role of Ted Kennedy.

I’m glad to see progressives advocating progressive policy in Congress, even if it makes some Polsters uncomfortable. The dirty secret about progressive policies is that they are popular with voters.
I think that "moderate" means "don't say anything to upset them or else the Republicans will abuse you." In other words it's a co-dependency trap. Big clue, they will abuse you whether or not you stay quiet as a mouse.
The Republican Party certainly doesn't speak moderately. They have a brand marketing strategy which they use to juice election turnout. This is very effective in low-information, low-turnout elections.

It's almost like the moderate Democrats are trying to be old-school Republicans, catering to the needs of big business and the wealthy. Naaahh! Are they really against the social safety net of Social Security and health insurance.
As for the Republicans, embracing the extremists seems to be working out really well for them.
