    1. Aw, poor baby. Hey Low Rent Barbie, if you're so sick of being called a bigoted, racist, conspiracy theorist, the first step to making it stop is to quit being a bigoted, racist conspiracy theorist.

       

      Also, "The Disturbing Push to Rebrand Pedophiles".  Bimbobert and Obtuse Angle, I agree.  So, why are you guys trying to re-brand Low-rent's husband?

       

          1. Genghis: I was a radio disc jockey in college, playing classical, easy listening, jazz and Top 40, on various shows. Have always had a strong interest although don’t play any instruments. 

            Here’s another for you, not related to this thread. If you want a tune that combines hip-hop with surf music, like The Ventures and Dick Dale, try “Pump It” by the Black Eyed Peas. The official video also has some fab crazy dance moves.

    2. I certainly don't think of her as a theorist — that has the overtone of actual thought and effort to make connections and explanations. 

      Nor do I know of her being especially racist.

      She clearly IS a true believer in a variety of things that don't link to the world I live in. Some of them, I think she may even understand.

      I just read an article at Alternet in which a learned person referred to the GOP as “a dime store front for a terrorist organization called MAGA”. 

      To this day I am amazed at the power of “the suspension of disbelief”. I am saddened to think there are so many, otherwise intelligent, honorable, people who allow slimy cretins like Gaetz and Greene and that bunch to sell them lies.

    Denver, April 11, 2022 – The Elections Division of the Colorado Secretary of State’s Office announced today that Giulianna “Jewels” Gray, Republican candidate for United States House of Representatives, District 8,

    Republican primary top line is Lori Saine; and then by petition Tyler Allcorn, Barbara Kirkmeyer, & Jan Kulmann.   Any chance the primary turns into a feud sufficient to offend Republican and Unaffiliated voters in the November general election?

    In other moves I'd not yet seen mentioned:

    • Scott Yates pulled his petitions for CO-03 Dem,
    • Scott Mangino pulled his for CU Regent from CO-01.

    1. You kinda cut off the important part with your copy and paste. Gray's petitions were found "insufficient".

      Also, Yates and Mangino both withdrew their petitions within the past few days.

    While there are specific things Trump and his associates did that were illegal — the call to Brad Raffensperger, the fake elector certificates, the illegal demand of Mike Pence — many of the rest are only illegal (at least under the framework DOJ is using) if they are tied to Trump’s successful effort to target the mob at American democracy. You first have to prove that Trump fired the murder weapon, and once you’ve established that proof, you can investigate who helped Trump buy the weapon, who helped him aim it, who loaded the gun for him, who was standing behind him with four more weapons to fire if his own shot failed to work.

    On March 16, “Eastman and others spent nearly two hours behind closed doors pressuring Republican Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Robin Vos to nullify the 2020 election and reclaim the electors awarded to Biden.”

    This is how people behave when they believe there are no consequences for their actions. And you can understand why they might think that. Trump — whose entire life is a tribute to the power of audacity — pardoned Manafort, along with a rogues’ gallery of crooks and grifters who made up his cronies, from Roger Stone to Stephen K. Bannon. And who in the Republican Party has condemned Eastman, or Manafort for that matter? Almost no one. They know that there are no ethical or moral transgressions that will get you banished from the GOP; the only meaningful sin is disloyalty.

    There are times when both parties may ask themselves, “Can we get away with this?” Even if the answer is sometimes no, what differentiates them is that Democrats are terribly scarred by their defeats, gripped by the fear that they’ll be rejected by the public if they act too boldly or are too firm in their convictions.

    Republicans, on the other hand, almost inevitably decide that their only mistake in the past was being too timid and insufficiently ruthless. To the question, “Can we get away with this?” they almost always answer, “Why not? Who’s going to stop us?” Unfortunately, more often than not they turn out to be right.

    1. It took ALL of the (few) Democrats to get to a majority in favor of impeachment.  There are 70 seats in the South Dakota House of Representatives — 8 Democrats, 62 Republicans. Over half the Republicans voted against the charge.

      Rapid City's Fox outlet says "The final vote was 36 to 31, the bare minimum that House lawmakers needed to advance the resolution to the Senate. No lawmakers rose on the floor to speak against impeaching Ravnsborg." … "While Ravnsborg technically maintains the title of Attorney General, he is suspended unless he is acquitted during a Senate trial."

      Trial cannot begin for 20 days, and now both chambers are "adjourned day-to-day" until "a message from the House of Representatives regarding the disposition of the investigation and any articles of impeachment" and 14 days have passed, when the Senate will re-convene.
