      1. I remember watching as Beavis, Butthead, and Bart Simpson taught a generation of kids how cool it was to be ignorant, rude, useless, and proud of it.

        1. See: Schrödinger Douchebag  (noun) 1.someone who says offensive things and decides whether they were joking based on the reaction of people around them.

You can bet she’ll be yucking up this moment with the MAGA faithful on her next layover in CD-3.

  1. Trent Lott and Mitch McConnell….

After McConnell's remarks about Black-Americans voting almost like Americans, I got to thinking about the Old Crow's predecessor, Trent Lott.

Lott was a nasty racist but at least he had the decency – yes, I find it amazing that I'm using that word to describe Trent Lott – to resign when his racist comment become public.

    1. The long arc of the real Republican universe . . .

It takes a real, nasty outhouse dirtwad to make Trent Lott look good by comparison . . .

. . . I wonder what next piece of festering sewage the Republicans have stewing in their cesspool stockpot right now, to make Mitch McConnell look good???

        1. Mr. Ginny Thomas? John Eastman? Chief architect of the coup’s legal blueprint (who will likely be one of the principal players ensnared in any criminal conspiracy net), Thomas’ law clerk.

Paging Justice Thomas, party of one…

            1. The turd who promised to bring back the gold standard, then convincing his dimwit followers to invest en masse in a currency backed by absolutely nothing of real-world value? (the sector lost a trillion in value this past week)

  2. I am very perturbed this morning. I know Fluffy or PP wishes it was about something they said, but no.

A phone conversation ended badly. It did not take my beloved sibling, the one who listens to right wing bullshit, to use the term “experimental vaccine”.  When I, politely I thought, explained how it was possible, with world wide participation and todays’ information and computing capabilities to compress the years previously necessary for development into several months, it mattered none.

Within moments, a diatribe mentioning the devious and evil Fauci and the Biden monster as well, was filling my ears.

But that is not the point.

Those adults who care about truth and the future of our country need to stiffen up and talk back. One of the stories I heard on that angry, resentful call was about an acquaintance of someone else that got a booster shot and died the next night. Be prepared to TRY to explain that anaphylaxis happens within 15 minutes of the injection. Conformation bias is so powerful in their aggrieved minds that they will not listen…and it seems they don’t want to talk about anything else.

    1. It's not about the facts, it's about identity and ego maintenance. You can't argue with somebody about their identity.

It's best to change the subject. The reason for Republican culture wars and vax the dis-information campaign is to take attention away from all the Democratic success.

"Well, thankfully we've Obamacare in case you get sick, and now we've got the Biden boom bringing unemployment down. The economy is going gangbusters; look at house prices and the stock market. Inflation? Biden should get rid of Trump's import taxes. Or else, the Federal reserve could kill the housing market by raising interest rates to 5 or 10%. "

      1. "take attention away from all the Democratic success……"  Not all of it is Republican as the Dems are doing a pretty good job of ignoring their successes. Charlie Sykes and other columnists had interesting points about that in this week's editions of The Bulwark dot com.

    2. Those 23% of adults (morons) who care about propaganda and the future of Communism, need to stiffen up and talk back.  One of the stories I heard on that angry, resentful call was about an acquaintance of someone else that got a booster shot and died the next night. Be prepared to TRY to explain that Communism only killed 20 million people and we need to give it another try. Freedom and liberty is so powerful in their aggrieved minds that they will not listen…and it seems they don’t want to talk about anything else.

      1. Professor Pfruit and his right-wing authoritarians . . .

. . . always ready and willing to destroy the country in order to “save” it.

When all you have is a hammer an appetite for inflicting destruction when you’re not getting your way . . .

        Same solution as always . . .

          1. P'fruit was cryogenically frozen in the 1950's just before Joe McCarthy's fall from power and was just recently defrosted.

Someone needs to explain to him that Mr. Gorbachev tore down the wall and China is a Communist country in name only.

      2. By the way, PP.

Much better writing on that piece. Your subject and assessment are crap and crap…in that order, but your structure and format are much better. Tell me, did you work with a ghost writer?…Or maybe a writing coach?

Nice work…keep it up, and it gets even better if you ever learn what you are talking about.

  3. Gee, if only there were a theory to explain why a group of white people has the power to unilaterally dictate what students learn about race and racism in America’s Blackest state (the black student population is larger than the white student population by 4%)

Do you reckon the Freedumb Caucus has a position on this?

    1. Adventures in critical race theory actual history:

My boundless admiration for teachers went up a notch today, as I was able to observe two brave souls teaching the actual history of racism in this country.

One was a history lesson for students with cognitive disabilities. On Stonewall Jackson: . “Yes, he fought to be able to keep owning slaves. You’re right…he was a bad guy.”

The other was a lesson requiring students to make claims from primary source evidence, in a regular American history classroom. The specific content was the reasons why Japanese Amerucans were interred during World War II.

Students examined primary sources including: the Supreme Court ruling that internment was constitutional, War Department orders, interviews of internees, and secondary sources about the  relative numbers of Japanese, (120,000) German and  Italian Americans (~ 13,000) who were interred or watched during World War II.
Students were free to come up with their own claims; but they had to have evidence for them.

But because these history lessons included the word “race”, encouraged students to synthesize from sources and learn from history, and could possibly make white students feel guilty and/or uncomfortable, they could be forbidden if the CRT protesters win in your kid’s school district.
