  1. This is a total campaign move, and Veterens and Medical professionals should be asking why she didn’t move this issue forward earlier.

    Worse, why duplicate efforts. There exist today many community partnerships focused on this issue … Her effort only takes the wind out of existing successful efforts.

    В Michelle Obama has gotten a new commitment from medical schools to boost training and research for the treatment of veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder and other mental health injuries.

    The initiative is part of the first lady’s Joining Forces campaign, which focuses on issues affecting veterans and their families.

    Mrs. Obama is to announce the commitment from more than 100 medical schools during an appearance this afternoonВ at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. The schools are agreeing to step up training for medical students in how to treat PTSD and traumatic brain injury, increase research into the conditions and share new information and best practices.

    Aides said Mrs. Obama will emphasize that while most troops come home from combat with few or no mental health issues, those who do should not see it as a source of shame or weakness.

  2. Vestas Wind Systems tomorrow plans to announce organizational changes that may cut thousands of jobs at the world’s biggest wind turbine maker while preserving the position of Chief Executive Officer Ditlev Engel.

    As many as 3,000 of Vestas’s more than 23,250 employees may lose their posts, said Jacob Pedersen, an analyst at Sydbank.

    The jaded Denver Post actually had the nuts to say that the Vestas CEOs position would remain. Now we all know that the liberals desire socialistic business organizations … Benefit corporations and what not … But really? Of course the CEO position remains … We’ll hear more details later and hopefully no job losses occur or at least not in Colorado. Just horrible news all around.

    1. You really do assume none of us read links, don’t you? Or was it just a completely innocent oversight on your part to mention that the vast majority of jobs being cut will be in Denmark, not here?

      And that is it highly likely that jobs here in the US will be “spared” altogether, according to your own linked article, because of the combination of both demand and the tax credits that support wind energy (that you so abhor, except when they are going to oil and gas industries.)

      But your concern for Denmark is deeply touching.

      1. the leading Republican candidate for POTUS was richly rewarded for cutting American jobs and/or sending them overseas.

        Even Rick Perry calls it vulture capitalism.

            Maybe Romney can hire a few of the folks he fired and let them make some cold cash being partisan shills.  If Arapajoke can do it then it should be a low skilled job that is the future the Republicans want.

        2. ‘turd is a vapid, vacuous cut & paste troll that dumps his turdbits and cowardly runs until he gets the next rightie memo.  There are no evident cerebral functions involved with what ‘turd does.

          ‘turd can’t be expected to really read what he decides to paste — can’t involve himself with facts since there is so little time and so many rightie marching orders to obey.  

  4. Man Wounded in Arizona Shooting Hates Gabrielle Giffords

    Reporters have finally managed to locate a man who may be the only American that doesn’t find Gabrielle Giffords’ recovery inspirational. In fact, he’s disgusted by Giffords and her husband Mark Kelly and says, “Every time I see them on TV, it makes me want to vomit.” George Morris knows firsthand what the couple have been through, because he’s one of the victims of the Arizona shooting. Morris was wounded in the attack and his wife was killed, yet he’s challenging anyone who says the lesson from the attack is that there needs to be more civility in politics.

    2. I read his original interview with the AZ Central and I have mixed feelings after reading it. I’m truly glad he has found someone new to share his life with, am sad and sympathetic to the enormous loss he has experienced (married 54 years to his wife, one of the victims) and downright nauseated at some of his comments.

      I can’t understand him blaming Mark Kelley for this, as though Gifford’s husband single-handedly should be responsible for security for a member of Congress at an open meeting. Maybe his way of getting through this experience is finding someone to blame? I really don’t understand where he’s coming from with his level of despisement for Giffords and Kelley.

      I’m really left sort of speechless after reading the entire interview.

  6. So I got a Kindle for Christmas and it only took me until today to figure out how to turn it on.  I ordered a $3.99 game (you know, to prove I could) and I was charged $0.31 in sales tax.

    (Reuters) – Warren Buffett is willing to put his money where his mouth is, if only congressional Republicans would join him.

    The American billionaire investor, in the new issue of Time magazine, says he would donate $1 to paying down the national debt for every dollar donated by a Republican in Congress. The only exception is Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell – for whom Buffett said he would go $3-to-$1.

    1. It’s stupid and pointless, because there is nothing here that hurts in the primary.  Sure a bunch fat white American  workers lost their jobs, but some other guys got really rich.
