I expected to get nothing out of watching the Iowa caucus results last night, and instead received many interesting moments. http://www.coloradopols.com/di…
G*d told her to run but everyone else now telling her to quit. Guess it hurts when U lose 2 everyone but the guy not plaing in your own “home” state.
All those recent defectors look pretty smart right now. Cue media sexism accusations in 3…2…1…
I’m just sure I have something important to do at 9a.m. 🙂
Perhaps helping starving orphans or something. Just ask Tebow.
thems ain’t signs that they’re in it 2 win it
Parry has cancelled most all his SC meet ups and NH agenda is in flux. Batshit Bachmann is quietly pulling back SC visits. So 5 will be standing for the next bit of fun …
Or as the phrase goes these days, “suspending” her campaign. Holding a press conference at 11 a.m. ET.
The field is thinning.
What’s the matter with me?
Is the Pizza Man’s campaign still “suspended”? And I wonder if Pawlenty is kicking himself.
was pretty accurate. Won’t Coffman be sad about Perry? Or will he be thankful the whole idea of a Perry candidacy and his chairmanship of the Colorado Perry Campaign will be such dusty old news by election time, it won’t do Dems a bit of good to try to use it? Not that it would have been much of a negative blockbuster in any case, but still. Not even a minor problem anymore.
Rick Perry ? Who ? Never heard of the guy…
be unshackled from his oops . . . my best rounds of golf always allow for Texas mulligans.
Sanatorium could benefit from a slightly-used Colorado chair . . .
volunteering to chair for no hoper crazies, especially with his new district’s demos to think of.
still, lovin’ some crazy is an awfully hard habit to break . . .
Think Coffman’s quit Bachmann’s Tea Party Caucus yet?
Don’t know if Coffman is, but the commenters at RedState are tearing their hair out.
From Norway:
HT, as always for these things, to SLOG.
than “homophobe”. Not sure what fosser fram means, though:)!
if you want to go to the effort.
Fortunately a commenter at SLOG already went to the trouble. The rest of it means “surges forward.” Since they changed Santorum to “homophobe,” they avoided a double entendre.
He’s recess appointing members to the National Labor Relations Board to bring it up to full strength (as of yesterday it was down to two members, which is not enough for it to conduct business), and he’s recess appointing Richard Cordray, former Ohio Attorney General, to head up the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, allowing it to begin full operations.
All of these appointments had been blocked by Republican filibuster threats in an attempt to disable these agencies, which are aimed at helping the 99% (and therefore bad for the soak-em-all CEOs that power the GOP money machine…).
that it was ” arrogant ” of Obama to circumvent years of obstructionist tactics by the GOP and make these recess appointments.
Really ? So he should cease all efforts on behalf of the 99 % and lie down for the bagmen of the 1 % because why ?
They really don’t like it when Barry gets a pair do they. Hope he does it some more, because their tactics will be the same either way.
at redstate say something like “You know what ‘unanimous consent’ means, Mr. Obama? You’re about to find out.” Anyone care to decryptify this for me, please?
to obstruct everything Obama does using procedural gimmicks like objecting to “unanimous consent” requests. But, like, more.
Oh, and I was expecting a picture based on reading just your comment header.
If Republicans run the Unanimous Consent gambit, it will almost certainly lead to the Democrats overturning the Senate rules under the Constitutional/Nuclear Option and replacing them with something more workable.
make up of the post-2012 senate . . .
Still, I expect that if the ReGOPs get the Senate and hold that House that the nuclear option is a forgone conclusion anyway . . .
Might as well find out what a first strike looks like, huh? Mutually assured destruction, anyone?
I’m hoping more are coming. I think he should have done a recess appointment of every person who’s been waiting more than 90 days for a vote. I think the total number would blow away most voters and put the fault squarely on the Republicans.
It was President Obama.
Santorum my or may not be nominatable. His homophobia will not be a direct obstacle to the nomination. Nor his condemnation of single moms. But he cannot win a general presidental election. (Show me the electoral math where he even gets close.)
I hope Arapagoph and other Flopney lovers were watching closely. Romney is electable – most of his primary obstacles are irrelevant in the general. But he better distance himself from the R lunacy
It’s all about 270, though personally I would prefer 366+.
With no clear frontrunner, primary season could last a long, long time.
Will this keep Romney from tacking to the center? Will he be doomed in the general by the dreck he has to keep spouting in order to win over TPers in the primaries?
but this article suggests the delegates are still pretty close to winner-take-all.
if a candidate were to get squished in IA and NH, do ok in SC and win Florida they would be in the lead at that point.
but later states tend to be heavily influenced by what happens earlier. Giuliani bet everything on Florida with this exact plan.
9.11 Giuliani’s plan was 9.11 a little different, but sure, 9.11 I can see that Giuliani was never prepared to compete in IA or 9.11 South Carolina.
