That picture is going to haunt him, bad. There they go again referring to Bill as “Wrong Way Ritter”. That is so LAME.
C’mon guys have *some* creativity. It really draws more attentoin to “Both Ways Bob” as the source of the nickname! Not smart.
That photo will forever be Bob Beauprez “Dukakis in a Tank” moment.
I have that “Dukakis in a Tank” original poster framed in my office. The copy reads “Keep America strong, vote Democratic” with Crazy Duke pointing directly at the camera and smiling. The thing makes me laugh every time I look at it. It’s complete with the union bug and DLC disclaimer. Yep – that’s right, they actually turned the photo into an honest-to-god campaign poster.
But that Both Ways photo tops my poster.
Dems have a sense of humor and can laugh at some of our own exaggerations or mishaps. We can laugh at Dukakis in the tank, or giggle (or blush) at the Monica Lewinsky jokes. And who amongst us took Al Gore seriously when he claimed to be the inspiration for “Love Story?”
The Republicans cannot see the humor in some of the malapropisms that spewn forth from Shrub’s vocal cavity. (They do, however, find humor in the vice president shooting and injuring his friend. Go figure……)
But I seriously doubt the state GOP will be auctioning off an autographed, framed poster of Both Ways in his natural position at the next annual Lincoln-Reagan-Trent Lott-Jim Welker dinner.
at least give Dukakis credit for actually serving in the Armed Forces. Both Ways is a totally different story.
Dukakis following Mondale is when I changed affiliation to (R). Neither were very funny really.
… why I’ve never registered as a Democrat despite voting that way about 90 -95% of the time. Anyone remember Paul Tsongas in 1992? Until he dropped out of the Democratic race it looked for a while like they were going to nominate Mondale/Dukakis all over again. (To a certain extent that’s what they did when they nominated Gore and Kerry IMO.)
if Beauprez has filed for a registered trademark for his title of Both Ways? I sure hope he wills and bestows the title to Bush after his political demise in November. BWB won’t need the title after he gets booted from politics will he? Bush gets his wish for democratic elections in Palistine, then whines about the results. Bush does all he can to secure a secular government in Iraq while doing all he can to destroy it here in America. You can’t have it both ways GW. Or, I guess, maybe you can if Beauprez remembers you when writing his political will.
Its interesting that Pete Coors the president of Trailhead which has been bashing Bill Ritter for plea bargains, just took a plea bargain in his own drunk driving case. Come on somebody, do a commercial using this!
“Do as I say, not as I do” has become another commandment of the Colorado GOP elites.
