    Background for the results:

An ABC affiliate says “The cost of California's upcoming gubernatorial recall election has been finalized at a whopping $276 million,”

Throw in some auditing efforts and court costs for the challenges to come, and I’m betting the public expense can get over $300 million.

LA Times article says campaign funding includes:

    • $45.2 million supporting the recall
    • $83 million opposing the recall

So, $400 million for the overall recall efforts.

On the other hand, CA will profit from the filing fees:  every candidate had to kick in $4,194.94.

Meanwhile, back at Recall Central, somewhere in Colorado . . .

. . . “Did ya’ hear that, DarrellBill?  $400 million!!  Holeee Boeberts! I wonder how many cases of Bud light that musta’ done took?!?”

      • MichaelBowman says:

Hey DarrelBill, I got an idea. Let’s sign up for some Patriot Edukation! This has a Trump University ring to it, but I’m thrown off by the fact that one of the main speakers is the guy Trump doesn’t want to be friends with anymore!

        • Diogenesdemar says:

          Hmmmm, doesn’t that look eerily familiar??? . . .

          . . . Maybe if they’d added the, “Today is . . .” and “. . . day.” to “National Symposium on Patriotic Education”? . . . .

. . . Holeee Boeberts!   A Twinkie, a fruit muffin, and a blob of cured-meat product on a stick — that’s how we begin our days around here!

CNN has been disclosing their exit poll data. This may sound like a stupid question but do they really conduct exit polling in a mail-in election? And if so, how?

    • JohnInDenver says:

      Not a stupid question.

Yes, they really do exit polls.  NBC explained

Using proven probability-based sampling methods, the exit poll is a survey of voters conducted as they exit their polling places. It is the only survey measure of real voters and it’s conducted at hundreds of polling places. The exit poll also includes extensive interviews with in-person early voters and telephone surveys of early and absentee voters. Edison Research is the sole provider of exit poll data to the NEP.

For the past general election, Edison Research described using

      • Proven probability-based sampling methods for accurate results
      • In-person interviews with over 100,000 voters as they leave their polling places on the day of the election
      • In-person interviews at early voting locations
      • Early and absentee voter telephone polls
      • Detailed analysis of who voted and why they made their choices

    Over half the expected votes:

    1. Should Gov. Newsom be removed from office?

     NO  4,530,002  71%

    Yes 1,874,206  29%

    52% of Expected Vote Reporting

And there will be automatic checks on the election. In fact, “Results will be certified by October 22, 2021.”

BOOyaaaah. Even the Trumpiest counties in Cali couldn’t muster enough votes to spell R.E.C.A.L.L. It will be interesting to see what the in-person voting shows, but it can’t overcome this huge No on Recall advantage.

    Enjoy it.

Good folks won and the commies lost!

    doo dah, doo dah.

Good folks won and the Commies lost!

Now Trump will dump all day!
