“Good news is rare these days, and every glittering ounce of it should be cherished and hoarded and worshipped and fondled like a priceless diamond.”
–Hunter S. Thompson

Today is Can Opener Day
I get it. It is hard being you: you feel no one understands you. They call you crazy and annoying, cryptic, lazy even. They just do not , will not, understand.
Suicide is pointless. In any civilization it is the unreasonable man who causes change. And you are just trying to help.
But here is the thing, and there is no way around it: you are part of the problem.
Be part of the solution. Stop naming the days. Post a picture of paint drying. Be funny. Offer a solution to immigration in America (hint: follow the money). Volunteer for an adult literacy program. Grow a tree. Prove DK wrong. Have a sandwich or do some f****n' thing.
Why doesn't anybody make a can closer?
Well, it seems that they get close but can't seal the deal.

I’m sure you will all be fascinated by the details of what is, in general, blindingly obvious.
CP: “Survey: Most Democratic Colorado Parents Support Students Wearing Masks In Schools, While Most Republican Parents Do Not”
There apparently wasn’t a question about WHY those Republican parents want to have their kids (and thus their families) play Viral roulette. Closest approximation is a researcher’s quote:
Yeah, really. “you didn’t know what was going to happen” is something that only comes from random school decisions and not from, say, viral infection.
I recently was exposed to COVID by an elementary school student. (I’m fine, fully vaxxed and testing negative so far).
But you can bet that I stay well away from kiddos sporting MAGA or Gadsden flag or Trump regalia. Avoid them like the plague, pun intended, mask or no mask.
I still teach them, for educational equity’s sake, but I observe social distancing more carefully. And I’m in a suburban , blue area. When I taught in a red county, a third of my classes were Trumpers. I feel for rural teachers today.
The youngest kids, under 12, are the real victims here. They have no politics, could care less about whatever their parents are screaming at the TV about. And they cannot get a vaccination yet. But they can get sick… real sick …children are taking up 3% of ICU COVID beds nationwide, more in hotspots in red states. it is just not fair.
