New Consulting Firm in Town: Strategies 360

  • by: Colorado Pols

We didn’t get a chance to get to this press release yesterday, but it’s certainly noteworthy enough for the diehard “insiders” here. Strategies 360, a public affairs, marketing and communications firm with offices in seven Western states and Washington D.C., is opening a Denver office with Tyler Chafee (formerly of RBI Strategies) as the Senior Vice President of Colorado Operations.

What makes this new Strategies 360 office particularly interesting is that it immediately becomes the Colorado public affairs firm with the largest reach and the most resources (other offices are in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico and Washington DC). Colorado already has a number of quality public affairs firms operating here on both sides of the aisle, so it says something about our state’s growing influence, both regionally and nationally, that such a large firm would open an office in Denver.

Full press release after the jump.

Strategies 360 continues expansion across the West, opens Colorado office

Strategies 360 is pleased to announce that we are opening S360 Colorado, based in Denver, giving us offices in seven Western states and Washington, D.C. Tyler Chafee, Senior Vice President of Colorado Operations, will oversee the firm’s practice there, providing clients with his extensive public policy experience, strategic expertise, and knowledge of the West.

“We are thrilled to be expanding into Colorado. This is an important state and growing market and many of our clients with interests across the West will benefit from adding our services here,” said Ron Dotzauer, co-founder and CEO of S360.

Tyler joins us from RBI Strategies and Research, where he worked on public policy and economic issues across the state. Tyler also served as campaign manager for now Governor John Hickenlooper’s successful effort to pass the “Better Denver” bond issues campaign to improve infrastructure and transportation. He has run several winning statewide candidate campaigns, 527 efforts, and ballot initiatives.

“With offices in seven western states plus Washington, D.C., we are well positioned to help our clients achieve success on just about any important project in the West,” said Eric Sorenson, co-founder and president of S360. “Tyler’s understanding of how to get things done is exactly what we need in Colorado, and it complements our team of experts across the West. We’re thrilled to have him on board.”

Tyler previously served as a political analyst for the Service Employees International Union in Washington, D.C., where he oversaw multi-million dollar independent expenditure campaigns. Tyler also conducted lobbying and electoral strategy for the Colorado AFL-CIO, and worked with the western-based Bighorn Action on messaging and advocacy related to Colorado’s budget challenges.

Tyler lives with his wife and three children in Centennial. He has a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Denver where he competed in parliamentary debate at national and world competitions.

Strategies 360 specializes in creating the environment for client success. The firm started in 2004 in Seattle, and now has a total of ten offices in Alaska, Montana, Oregon, Spokane and Olympia, Wash., Idaho, New Mexico, Colorado and Washington, D.C.  Clients range across dozens of industries, including energy, natural resources, technology, health care, agriculture, land use, manufacturing, education, transportation, nonprofits, and others.

  1. that such a large firm would open an office in Denver …

That’s after they already opened offices in Idaho, Montana and New Mexico?

Regardless, it’s an interesting move by Chafee.
