      1. A sacred day, even though it took a couple more years for the vette to reach perfection.

About 30 years ago I had a chance to buy  a 1957 for $14,000.  God, I wanted it.  But as the sole support of  a wife and two kid, I passed.

I did however buy a model and still cherish that.  My kids now have a ph. D in philosophy and a law degree so the sacrifice was worth it.

But I still love vettes, a troubadour’s love, all the stronger for being unconsumated.

  1. Just throw her into the deep end and see if she can swim.

I think Pelosi should appoint Lauren Boebert to the Jan 6 investigation committee, along with Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger.

  2. Interesting 5-4 SCOTUS decision announced today regarding pipeline companies having the right of eminent domain over state-owned land in New Jersey. Writing for the majority, Chief Justice Roberts said yes, joined by Alito, Kavanaugh, Breyer, and Sotomayor.

Dissenting; Yahoo article did not say who wrote the dissent; were Thomas, Gorsuch, Barrett, and Kagan.

    1. Barrett and Gorsuch both filed dissents.  Barrett's was joined by Gorsuch, Thomas, and Kagan.  Gorsuch's was only joined by Thomas.  Nerdy issues of state immunity (Eleventh Amendment and others).
