Bill is running away with the gubernatorial race. BB’s fundraising is stalling out, and his attempts to unite the Republican Party in the wake of MH and 88 have proved lack-luster at best. This new poll from Rasmussen simply confirms Beauprez’s worst fears. This race is far from over, but Beauprez will have a tough time gaining traction from Washington; somehow, I don’t think Janet Rowland is going to resurrect the Beauprez campaign in his absence…
… the Katherine Harris of Colorado.
According to Dan Haley:
“According to a recent Mason-Dixon poll conducted for The Post, 85 percent of Coloradans recognize Beauprez’s name. Unfortunately for Beauprez, 22 percent recognize it “unfavorably,” compared to only 31 percent who recognize it favorably.
Only 8 percent of Coloradans view Ritter unfavorably, according to the poll. Of course, a big chunk, 25 percent of the electorate, has never heard of him. That can be a blessing or a curse. While it allows him to tell his personal story to voters, there’s room for Beauprez to drive up his low unfavorables. (Ritter’s ratio of favorable to unfavorable is nearly 4 to 1, while Beauprez’s is not even 2 to 1.)”
Looks like all the hand-wrangling, blackmail, backroom deals and lawsuits to get Holtzman out of the race were for naught — Beauprez still fails.
…more bad news for BB.
I didn’t see the Channel 12 debate, but read about it in the Rocky.
Gathered that BB is still defending his correct position on C & D instead of getting ahead of the issue. Not too quick on his feet, even when he has six months to come up with an answer. He must drive with the radio on instead of turning it off and doing some thinking.
BB and thinking don’t mix, I guess. He’s a man of action and reaction—slow on the uptake.
Unimpressed with BB so far.
Interesting the Beauprez Camp has to come up with a tag line for Ritter in order to keep people away from Beauprez’s own tag line of “Both Ways Bob”. I just read this on BB’s website. Makes you laugh, especially the “flip flop.”

That is truly pathetic. Give me a break, “Wrong Way Ritter”? Pretty soon BB is going to be posting something like:
“Beuprez respondes to negative campaign tactics,
‘I know you are but what am I?’ “
And insert a hearty Pee Wee Herman laugh after “I know you are but what am I?”
It is good to see you posting again Druid (I hope that the sacred grove and all of the sexy nymphs are well), I always enjoy your whitty insights. Although, wouldn’t you say that BWB is such an easy target these days, it seems almost..well…bullyish(sp)to poke fun at him. But it is so fun to watch him self destruct, and very nearly impossible to resist the temptation to help him along ever so gently. The next few months should be quite entertaining.
So Both Ways Bob is planning to spend September in D.C.? He apparently believes that absence might make the Colorado voter’s heart grow fonder for him. Dream on!
I still think Both Ways sees what’s coming in November and he figures his time is better spent lobbying for a lobbyist’s job on K St. this fall than campaigning back home.
Although Bob appears to be a cooked duck, the game is not over for another three months. Well, I guess two months for BothWaysBob who wants to campaign the D.C. lobbyists for a month instead of the colorado voters.
He may be a dummy, but at least some of his staff aren’t. His best bet now is to somehow get associated with the national defense dems-are-commies strategy that Rove/Cheney is going to try. State money isn’t coming in, people are tired of him and his [lack of] character. In D.C. he has stature and hope. The alternative is to stay here and get beat.
but the last line. Do two-term congress reps who’ve sponsored virtually no legislation really have much stature in DC?
