With Congress moving quickly on President Biden’s agenda in Washington and the Colorado General Assembly in full swing in Denver, opportunities to help enact lasting change are everywhere! After four years of broken leadership and division, the pressure is on to accomplish as much as we possibly can and make up for lost time.
With the narrowest of majorities in the U.S. Senate, progressives need to seize the opportunity to pass meaningful reforms—and that means doing away with the legislative filibuster. Our friends at Indivisible Colorado are organizing constituents just like you to appeal to Sens. John Hickenlooper and Michael Bennet to put an end to this relic of inequality, and break the legislative logjam that has stymied the hopes of generations.
Another important campaign the Indivisible Network is working on right now is winning statehood and equal representation for the District of Columbia. Sen. Michael Bennet has already signed on to this important legislation, and we’re hoping Sen. John Hickenlooper does the same soon. Click here to add your voice to Americans across the country calling for statehood for D.C.

And here are many more great ways to make a difference for the week of March 1:
Metro Caring: Tell Your Legislators To Support Necessary Documents Renewal
We need our birth certificates and social security cards to demonstrate that we have married or divorced, or that we changed our name. We need drivers’ licenses to operate cars and trucks. Colorado residents who have lost their documents due to floods, fires, and other natural disasters; domestic violence victims who have had to leave documents behind when fleeing their homes; seniors who may not ever have been issued a birth certificate because they were born at home; and people who have had their documents stolen, are examples of those who need help replacing their important documents. People who are experiencing homelessness often lose their IDs or are robbed. People seeking a second chance after leaving jail or prison often do not have the necessary documents for an ID.
Together Colorado Twitter Trainings
We are holding two more training sessions on using Twitter during the 2021 Legislative Session to reach elected officials, media, and influence public opinion on our legislative priorities.
When: Tuesday, March 2 at 12:00pm, Thursday, March 4 at 6:00pm
Metro Caring Champions of Vaccine Equity Community Meeting
Join Metro Caring, Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), Health Chair for the Colorado NAACP State Conference Dr. Shelia Davis, and Dr. Rep. Yadira Caraveo to get your COVID-19 vaccine questions answered. Now is the time to get the facts about the COVID-19 vaccines for yourself and for the people you love. The COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective! Protect your community against COVID-19. When it’s your turn to get your vaccine, you’ll know you’ve helped protect yourself and others — and that you’re doing your part to help end the pandemic, save lives, and help our community recover. We have lost over 400,000 Americans and over 4,000 Coloradans to COVID-19 and the best tool we have to end this crisis is the vaccine.
