    1. I refuse to believe the thousands of right-wing congresspeople since the Civil War haven't snuck it in in the last hundred fifty years, but not to lessen the crimes committed last week of course.

          1. Well done. Perhaps. One part of me is very glad that somebody hacked the crap out of Parler. On the other hand, there are serious implications for personal privacy.

One can argue that one shouldn't post on Parler if you don't want your information "out there." It does remind me, though, of the old Latin saying: "Caveat Emptor."

Myself, I don't have a Twitter account; I have very little on Facebook and Linked-In; and have never activated my Instagram account.

            1. The cellphone data harvested from everyone in the entire DC area that day will be more valuable in IDing the rioters. The Parler video files will help identify the crimes and might be attachable to individuals.

There is no privacy anymore unless you stash your devices in a faraday bag or leave them at home.

              1. People have been contacting media and authorities at a furious pace, ratting out friends, neighbors, and relations who were dumb enough to mug for the cameras. The chips are falling; mostly on their heads.

                1. There was that one mouthy little nutter doofus wearing that “2 plus 2 = ?” t-shirt, who had a Kleenex box tied onto the top of his head as a kind of a sad helmet, that I thought maybe looked kinda’ vaguely familiar ??? . . .

        1. How long now will it be before we hear shrill yelping going out from Fox & Friends demanding that Parler should be shut down permanently? . . .

. . . or, claiming Parler is really another tool of the dread deep state?  Has been infiltrated by Antifa to discredit glorious leader?

          1. It has been shut down. They kept hopping platforms as the carriers got wise to their content. They're running out of places to hide, which is why the angel hacker grabbed the data while it was still available.

      1. Good. But I'm glad I got screenshots  (8 of them) of Boebert's Parler posts when I did. Here she is with her idol:

And here she proclaims that there is "evidence" of voter fraud – almost all of this is QAnon or 4chan sourced, and has been debunked multiple times.

    1. I'll be careful running errands in Grand Junction today. Without instructions from the borg, trumpy's minions will be crashing into things and walking straight into walls.

  1. Remember that time not so long ago when Ttumpy fired Comey via Twitter while he was in Los Angeles and he had to find his own way home?  Maybe Pence's "I don't have the votes for the 25th" is a head fake to get the OD stranded at the Alamo tomorrow.

It would be a poetic ending of an era error.

    1. I've always thought that just leaving dump in the desert was the way to do it; leave him to the ants and the scorpions (he identifies with them); but  the middle east would be a better scene.

  2. The notion has occurred to me that Q’bert may be about to find out what it feels like to have the weight of the Capitol fall on her.

There seems to be a lot of Democrats in Congress who would like to throw out every single member who supported insurrection. But, politically, that is unlikely, as the 2/3rds vote would require a lot of the rest of the Republicans to support.

But, that doesn’t mean someone won’t be offered up as a sacrifice. And Q’bert has volunteered to be tied to the stake by her tweets reporting the Speaker’s location during the insurrection. There were people in that building with guns and open plans to kill Pelosi.

And besides which, I suspect that the Republican leadership wouldn’t be sad to see her gone. So, they may not put up much of a fight to defend her. In fact, they may offer the compromise that says a vote to expel Q’bert and only Q’bert would get the necessary Republican votes if this whole expulsion for insurrection thing goes no further than her.

Like I said to begin, Q’bert might be about to find out what it feels like to have the weight of the Capitol falls on you.

  3.   Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman, a 75-year-old cancer survivor, has tested positive for the coronavirus after taking shelter in a room with other lawmakers, some of whom refused to wear masks, during last week’s violent takeover of the U.S. Capitol by a pro-Trump mob.       Washington Post

Ken Buck was directly in front of her.  He was not wearing a mask.  Does he have COVID?

  4. Talk-radio owner orders conservative hosts to temper election fraud rhetoric

Cumulus Media, which employs some of the most popular right-leaning talk-radio hosts in the United States, has told its on-air personalities to stop suggesting that the election was stolen from President Trump — or else face termination.

    .

    .

    .

Since the election, Cumulus has remained silent while some of its most popular hosts — who include Mark Levin and Dan Bongino — have amplified Trump’s lies that the vote was “rigged” or in some way fraudulent.

    1. Does anyone know if Levin’s show as broadcast on Sirius Patriot Radio is just a rebroadcast or a separate show from Cumulus?  Now that we have satellite radio as standard equipment in our tractors, Patriot Radio is a daily requirement for the 51st-staters (like Morse Code, we’ve come a long way from Voyageur and my Egging cabs and industrial AM radios on the fenders belching out noise from KRVN, Lexington, NE).

  5. Newly-elected Democratic Missouri Rep. Cori Bush drafted a resolution Wednesday to investigate, sanction and expel House members who had sought to overturn the 2020 presidential election.

“I believe the Republican members of Congress who have incited this domestic terror attack through their attempts to overturn the election must face consequences. They have broken their sacred Oath of Office.”

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez took things a step further, calling for the resignations of Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and Republican Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley.

Bush ran for Congress to represent (in part) Ferguson, Missouri where Michael Brown was murdered in 2014 by Darren Wilson.

Fate works in strange ways sometimes. Who would have thought at the time that Darren Wilson would play such a large role in changing political tides towards progressivism?

    1. Who indeed?  Three investigations, including one by Obama’s justice Department, cleared Officer Wilson of any wrong doing.  To say otherwise is either malicious ignorance or Trumpian mendacity.

      1. Trumpian mendacity from the most unlikely sources:

Michael Brown’s murder forever changed Ferguson and America. His tragic death sparked a desperately needed conversation and a nationwide movement. We must fight for stronger accountability and racial equity in our justice system.”

        — Sen. Kamala D. Harris (D-Calif.), in a tweet, Aug. 9

“5 years ago Michael Brown was murdered by a white police officer in Ferguson, Missouri. Michael was unarmed yet he was shot 6 times. I stand with activists and organizers who continue the fight for justice for Michael. We must confront systemic racism and police violence head on.”

        — Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), in a tweet, Aug. 9

        1. So, Kicksh*t, you claim that Eric Holder and Barack Obama are racist murderers who covered up the killing of a saint?  In fact, the “unarmed” Brown attacked Wilson and tried to take his gun away.

Scratches and bruises on Wilson plus Brown’s DNA evidence back up witnesses who said Brown attacked him.

          Truth matters!

The pandering lies by Warren and Harris are part of reason mainstream Democrats — led by black voters — rejected the uber left and voted for Biden. As Ta-Nihishi Coates said, Wilson was innocent of the crime of which he was accused. Coates said he did not favor lowering the standards of Justice for men like Wilson — he favored raising them for everyone else.

Black lives matter. So do blue lives. And truth matters!

          1. Voy**eur

I don't think that truth matters to you if you are so anxious to embrace the indefinite findings of the murder investigations and run with them in the much the same way that Bill Barr rewrote Mueller's findings. That's is dumpian mendacity.

There was no truth of murderous intent found in the investigations. Such nuance, even excessive force in the form of pouring 6 bullets into an unarmed victim, is wasted on somebody who has a clear agenda, though.

That Wilson (and the Ferguson police force) tended to see Brown as less than human came up clearly in the investigation of the force. Coates, Harris and Warren would all agree with that. The outcome of the situation was imminently predictable based on that alone.

The situation could have been defused and the loss of life avoided but Wilson acted on his impulse to be judge jury and executioner.

Theft of cigarillos is not a capital offense requiring execution on the spot.

            1. The point of Coates and others — including the Vox article that you took the Warren and Harris quotes from out of context — is that the false claims of “murder” distracted attention from real issues of abuse iin Ferguson, which stemmed from the city council and city manager, not Wilson.

So, you argue that Brown had the right to steal from the convenience store and when the police tried to question him, he had the further right to assault Wilson and try to take his gun away?  And then to kill Wilson as Officer Sicknick was murdered?

But the local DA investigated and found that both physical evidence and credible eyewitness accounts proved Wilson acted in self-defense.  Then the U.S. Justice Department, then led by those notorious racists Barack Obama and Eric Holder, investigated.  Verdict: Brown attacked Wilson and tried to take his gun away before Wilson shot him in self-defense.

Then a critic of the police — Wesley Bell — won the DA’s job on a promise to investigate the case anew.  bell won, examined the evidence a third time: and exonerated Brown a third time.

So that just leaves a cop-hating blowhard on a blog who still thinks it’s okay to kill cops.

Sorry, Kicksh*t, but three strikes and you’re out.

              Truth Matters.

                1. No, murder was not the distraction.  Your lying is the distraction.  There was no murder as every responsible investigation has shown, Trumpy breath.

You might reflect on the law of holes, Kicksh*t and stop digging.

                  Truth matters.

                  1. You've really fallen into your own little world of conspiracy. You're trying to tell me that the Ferguson Police Dept plotted the murder of Michael Brown and made Darren Wilson the fall guy to cover up their abuses in the community? Wow. That's just depraved.

At least we got Cori Bush out of the bargain.

                    1. More lies from kicksh*t.  I never wrote anything of the kind .  Brown tried to kill Wilson — a story collaborated by the bruises and scratches on Wilson  and Brown’s DNA on Wilson.  Wilson then shot Brown in self- defense.

Facts is facts, Kicksh*t.  And liars is liars.

It was the Justice Department report that, while exonerating Wilson, documented the underlying problems in Ferguson.

It was demagogic claims of “murder” by the likes of kicksh*t that distracted attention from those real problems.

Keep on digging, Kicksh*t.  No one can read this exchange and believe the lies you told about what I wrote.

                      Boy, you’re dumb.

                    2. Talk about dumb. Do you really believe that Elvis was riding shotgun with Darren Wilson? That Elvis was undercover with the Ferguson police? That’s even more depraved.

                      Snap out of it.

Hey, I didn’t drag Elvis into this. You did.

                    3. Your lies are getting weirder and weirder.

                      Boy are you dumb, Kicksh*t.

                      Or are you on drugs?

                      Elvis, Kicksh*t?

                    4. I just love this time of year . . .

. . . one of my favorite activities of the season is trying to guess what other folks New Year's resolutions weren't? . . .
