What you can do to fight back this week (September 28)

This week, the biggest October of our lives so far kicks off. In Colorado, the top objective is holding Sen. Cory Gardner accountable for his long record of opposing our state’s best interests on every issue. This past week, Cory Gardner committed his last, greatest betrayal of the voters he represents by breaking all of his promises from 2016 and announcing his support for Trump’s third Supreme Court pick.

Now is the moment. We need your help to hold Cory Gardner accountable.

We don’t ask our members directly for help often. But today, the need has never been greater.

There’s never been a more strategic moment to donate to ProgressNow Colorado, this state’s largest and strongest multi-issue progressive advocacy organization, as we work in these crucial final weeks to fight back for our shared progressive values and hold the right accountable at every level of government–from Cory Gardner in Washington down to your neighborhood. Our staff of creative professionals is working overtime to support progressives and progressive policy goals at all levels. Our work, both under our brand and in support of our alles, has been central to progressive victory in this state for over 15 years.

Will you look back in November and wish you had done more? Get in this historic fight right now with your donation to ProgressNow Colorado. And thanks for your support when we need it most.

Here are some more great ways to fight back for the week of September 28:

History Colorado: Bold Women. Change History. Remembering RBG

We’re inviting the community to come together and commemorate and celebrate justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg during a three-day activation outside the History Colorado Center. The event begins on Sunday, September 27, when Denver artist Adri Norris begins a community-centered mural project on 12th Avenue between Broadway and Lincoln Street. Participants and passers-by can also see professional chalk artists creating ephemeral tributes to Ginsburg, and are invited to chalk their own personal tributes on the museum grounds. The event culminates with a public ceremony on Tuesday, September 29, at 11:30 a.m. with remarks from community leaders, bell tolling from the Denver City and County Building, and poetry recitation.

When: Sunday, September 27 – Tuesday, September 29
Where: History Colorado, 1200 Broadway, Denver

Women’s Lobby of Colorado: Power-Hour, Lunch-Hour text bank

At the Heart of the Matter: A New Generation of Good Troublemakers

Register to join Karen McNeil-Miller, president and CEO of The Colorado Health Foundation, on Wednesday, Sept. 30 for a virtual discussion with Colorado’s youth, and a special performance by Xiuhtezcatl Martinez, a hip hop artist, environmental activist and youth director at Earth Guardians, a worldwide conservation organization. John Lewis’ call to action to “get in good, necessary trouble” has become a rally cry for young leaders working to transform inequitable norms. Just as racism was woven into the founding of our nation, it exists at the roots of health disparities. Creating a healthier future requires a reweaving of our fabric, a retooling of our systems and the resounding vision of a new generation.

ACLU of Colorado: 2020 Bill of Rights Event

Please save the date for our first virtual Bill of Rights Event on Thursday, October 1, 2020.
