If you want COVID, I've found the event for you. Come to Bandimere Speedway in Jefferson County tonight for the "Stop the COVID Chaos" Rally https://bandimere.com/stop-covid-chaos-rally/
Judging by their branding of the event it looks like the purpose of the event is to spread COVID so I think they missed some punctuation in the title of their rally. I think it's supposed to be "Stop. The COVID Chaos."
Join prominent members of the "party of law and order" *snort-laugh* as they heartily flaunt laws that were created by legislators, used by executive branches and upheld by a judge while creating chaos in the name of their God given right to wrap themselves up in gaudy "patriotism".

It's true enough that cops have a split second to make a decision the courts then debate for ten years. But comparing that to a golf putt?
<sarcasm alert>In that split second, the police officer has one single decision he must make: record the get-out-of-jail card into your microphone. "I saw a knife."
Split Second Decisions.
I heard a great interview on NPR a few months ago about police retraining in Talahassee or Jacksonville or somewhere. They de-escalated police-citizen confrontations to a great extent by changing the situation from split-second to give-things-time to settle.
Stop, observe, assess, strategize, de-escalate. Psychologists say that in split-second situations fear, adrenaline, uncertainty easily trigger pre-existing prejudices.
Obviously, you can come up with some of scenarios requiring quick action, but in most cases, police are able to control of the timing.
Tell that to the more than 100 cops killed in the line of duty last year. I'm sure it will make their families feel better.
More cops are dying from COVid than any other cause now. This was on the ReidOut last night. Trump is killing police, just like he’s killed 180,000 people from negligence and greed.
V, are you saying that attempting to de-escalate potentially violent situations results in more police deaths?
I'm saying you need to stop knee-jerk blaming cops for every death. Michael Brown, for example, evidence and witnesses clearly established that he attacked officer Wilson before Wilson took his gun out. Brown, a 300-pound giant, tried to take Wilson's gun.Gunshot residue and other physical evidence proved the claim that Brown had his hands up when he was shot was a lie.
There are some bad cops. But there are a lot more bad criminals.
Deescalation is fine, where it is possible. But consider the gunman who opened fire on my son-in-law. He missed. My son-in-law returned fire and killed the gunman.
Sometimes, the good guys win. You need to recognize that not all would-be cop killers are misunderstood saints.

So Chick-Fil-A's motives for doing the right thing are impure. So what? (I'm old enough to remember when Coors decided it was more important to make money than make political statements and it too did the right. I wouldn't drink their stuff before they changed their policies, I did after.)
