  1. WOTD from the NYT: Two Indianapolis Police Officers Charged With Assaulting Protesters

We KNOW that police lie – ALL the time. Thank god for cell-phone cameras!

Officer Horlock, 29, was charged with battery, battery resulting in moderate injury, battery resulting in bodily injury, perjury, obstruction of justice and official misconduct, Mr. Mears said. The obstruction of justice charge relates to a statement that Officer Horlock made in a probable cause affidavit, in which he falsely claimed that Ms. Westfield had hit a police sergeant in the chest with her hands, according to the grand jury indictment.

Officer Schauwecker, 34, was charged with battery, battery resulting in moderate injury, two counts of battery resulting in bodily injury and two counts of official misconduct.

Other chickens coming home to roost:

In June, a New York police officer, Vincent D’Andraia, 28, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault after Dounya Zayer, 20, was injured at a protest against police brutality in Brooklyn. A cellphone video showed an officer shoving Ms. Zayer onto the pavement, where she rolled onto her side while clutching the back of her head. She was hospitalized with a concussion as a result of the encounter.

Two Buffalo police officers were charged in June with felony assault after a video showed officers shoving a 75-year-old man who was protesting outside City Hall. The charges were filed after the widely viewed video showed two police officers shoving the man, Martin Gugino, who staggered backward and landed hard on the sidewalk.

Last month, a Philadelphia police officer, Richard Paul Nicoletti, was charged with three counts of simple assault and other crimes after video evidence and witness statements depicted an officer assaulting three peaceful protesters with pepper spray during a Black Lives Matter demonstration, according to the Philadelphia district attorney.

Mr. Mears, the Marion County prosecutor, said Wednesday that there needed to be a “better system” for victims to report police misconduct.

    1. Chief Randal Taylor of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said the officers had been placed on paid administrative duty “with no police authority.” “I hold great respect for our criminal justice system and have faith that this process will deliver a just outcome,” Chief Taylor said in a statement. “While our internal investigation will continue, it is my intention to address our administrative review of the officer conduct at the conclusion of the ongoing criminal prosecution.”

      Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

These criminal cops will serve their desk duty and then move on to the next town. Maybe they'll pop up in Aurora.

  2. [Trump] inherited the longest economic expansion in history from Barack Obama and Joe Biden. And then, like everything else he inherited, he ran it straight into the ground.

    ~ Sen. Kamala Harris

Hopefully this indicates that Sen. Harris understands the VP candidate job a bit better than Sen. Kaine did.

    1. I think Harris is pitch-perfect on this line. I also believe she fully understands her role between now and November 3. And all I can say is – hooray!

    2. What she expressed has become a fact after 3+ years of disastrous donnie.

What matters is the position that the voice is coming from now.

That soundbite will surely get a lot of replay to help it sink in to the American psyche.

  3. Eighty two days ’til we vote the bum out.

    He’s a jackass without peer.

Let’s all rejoice at Comma La’s choice.

Then eighty one days to vote out this lout.
