    1. The picture of the scientists announcing Russia’s new vaccine is peculiar. Two of the “scientists” have no name cards. One looks to be in a prison- type striped shirt with a yellow ID tag on her wrist. Possibly, she was a “volunteer” who took the vaccine. Only one person in the room is masked, and all the “scientists “  are sitting shoulder to shoulder.

So they are disregarding basic covid19 protocols. Doesn’t inspire much confidence in their work. I’ll stick with Fauci. He seems to think that several vaccine strains are promising for US release by the end of the year.

      1. "What have you got to lose?"

Trump is exploiting his supporters' two greatest fears–foreigners and education–on Hugh Hewitt's radio program this morning: "If I lose the election, you're gonna have to learn to speak Chinese."

So we're about to lose our Merikan language?

              1. When President Eisenhower delivered the Gettysburg Address in 1988, he precipitated the Battle of Agincourt, which ultimately ended the Russo-Japanese War and at long last brought peace to sub-Saharan Norway.

                  1. Secretary pool, V. What we call the Cabinet, Dear Leader calls the secretary pool. Cabinets, says he, are places where maids store cleaning supplies and food and such.

Looks like I'm slated for Secretary of Commerce, a job presently limited in scope to filling orders for those QAnon Trumpy Bears they're selling on Fox News.

            1. Actually, we do, particularly for English learners.
I’ve had EL students held back from graduation because of lack of proficiency.

For the regular American student, 11 states still require an exit exam to graduate. Colorado isn’t one of them. Research on required grad tests was a mixed bag; it held back some students but didn’t improve overall outcomes. Nobody’s found a cure for “Senioritis” yet.
In Colorado, We do have alternative tests that students must pass prior to graduation to show literacy, numeracy, and workforce readiness.

      2. Yesterday we learned the "1917" flu pandemic "probably ended the Second World War," so "What have we got to lose?" can't be far behind.

I've always enjoyed watching those Drunk History vids. The Frontotemporal Dementia History vids coming from the White House these days are substantially less entertaining.

  1. Just eighty four days ’til we vote Trump out

And nail his rear to the wall.

Live this day in a loving way

Then eighty three days ’til the Fascists fall.

  2. Another Tuesday evening, another BLM protest in Jeffco. Today, we’re at W Colfax and Wadsworth 5:30- 6:30. Join us – we are peaceful and mostly silent. We wave at traffic. Bring  a Black Lives Matter or other on-message sign. Or just show up or honk as you pass.
