According to “The Fix“, Democrat Joe Manchin’s victory in West Virginia all but ensures that Republicans will not pick up the 10 seats needed to take control of the Senate.

Both are 60/40 Dem – 20%/12% reporting. It can still change a lot, but still being up 20 points is good.
That’s mostly Cook County reporting at this point and that number this early out is almost meaningless.
I figured 33% couldn’t be just Chicago – is it that big a percentage of the state population?
Now 53/42 so it is tightening…
Yes.
Most of IL is rural and Republican.
G still holding up well, 3%, with 57% in.
Think it’s fair to say my earlier prediction of a Buck 2% win in Colorado is toast. Thankfully.
Barely, but the trend over the past 25 mins is pretty clear….. 🙁
But they’re so close, it comes down to where the remaining votes are…
…that’s really Mississippi doesn’t come in until later.
Too bad, he was a thoughful intelligent progressive member of the Senate.
The people have spoken.
They will get what they asked for.
Looks like IL & PA are going R.
And it’s looking bad for Patty Murray in WA, and she’s a superb Senator.
Looks like we’ll keep Harry Reid, but I’d rather have Feingold or Murray…
and reports numbers long after the rest of Washington. Haven’t seen early numbers for Murray, but if they look bad now, it doesn’t tell you anything.
Murray moved in to the lead!
On Reid I think we can assume he’s got it, and 8 point lead with 55% reporting.
I think Colorado, Delaware, and Nevada showed that a state won’t elect someone too crazy to the Senate (unless it’s Kentucky).
which column Alaska falls into.
I’m betting a Murkowski upset, but the thought of Joe Miller in the Senate is frightening.
It’s early there yet and you can cast a ballot by mail on election day there. As long as it is postmarked by the 2nd, it counts. They could be counting that race until Friday. It took them over a month after the election to get a governor in WA.
Then again, aren’t you the same guy that thought we were winning both PA and Il less than a half an hour ago?
We WERE winning in PA and IL. And it’ll still be very close no matter what happens in those states.
You know how I hate that. 🙂
