Vote Hart for CU Regent - President Benson claims limited Board experience in Higher Ed

In his column, David Skaggs clearly articulates the case for why Colorado voters across the state should vote for CU law professor, Melissa Hart, for CU Regent.

http://www.denverpost.com/opin…

What is striking in the column is that even President Benson stated the need for Board members with direct higher education experience:

CU President Bruce Benson recently noted to a standing-room crowd on the Boulder campus that there is much about the University that the Regents don’t understand because “they are lay people without experience in higher education.”

Professor Hart is an educator, with over 10 years of direct experience working in higher education. The CU Board of Regents will be enriched by her perspective and as a result, the entire university system will benefit.

As you complete your mail-in ballots this weekend or if you choose to go to the polls, please review this editorial before making your final choice for CU Regent At-Large.

      1. who brags about pissing off “Boulder liberals” and focuses his attention on allowing more guns on the CU campus.  I thought conservatives dislike the politicization of higher ed, but maybe Bosley is an exception, someone serving as a CU regent not because he gives a rat’s ass about education, but just because he’s too B-level for a real political post, so this is the largest soapbox he could get to rant about guns and liberals.

        1. I think it’s sad.  People often talk about government as if it were a tangible, concentrated thing that runs around ruffling people’s hair.  Turns out a real thing that can, in this case, literally take away your future.  Even drowning to take away the power is better than this kind of bs.  Bosley needs to develop a little respect for the people he wants to vote for him.

Happily, what I see here is an informal poll with Hart winning 4 to 0.  Sweet!

I was about to say “not a valid sample,” but some to think of it, this is about as valid as the polling samples Rasmussen uses!

  1. And I’m making an assumption, but it’s reasonable – the person making this diary is likely a fellow regent. It’s unusual, although not unheard of, for a regent to endorse a fellow regent’s election opponent.

I realize it’s not kosher to out someone here, but the name is so well known among the CU community (and the board of regents) that it’s not likely that she’s attempting to hide it.
