More on Hickenlooper Comments

No not really breaking news, but it would be if all you did is pay attention to the political news Colorado Pols references.  Apparently, if it is not anti-Republican hate speech, especially anti-Buck, Colorado Pols is not interested in mentioning the story.

What story am I talking about? Like you don’t know, but on the off chance that the only political news you get is from the liberal propraganda mouthpiece, also known as Colorado Pols, here ya go!

Mayor Hickenlooper dropped his mask and let all of Colorado know what his true elitist beliefs are.

Here take a look at the clip!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…

or if you are not interested in hearing his offensive words I will provide the quote.

“I think a couple things. I mean, you know, the tragic death of Matthew Shepard occurred in Wyoming. Colorado and Wyoming are very similar. We have some of the same, you know, backwards thinking in the kind of rural Western areas you see in, you know, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico,” Hickenlooper said.

Now my question would be why has Pols not mentioned this major Colorado political news story?

Is it because they are too busy desperately smearing Ken Buck?  I would say they are, but does that mean they can’t mention Hick and his offensive words. I mean they even had the failed Keith Olberman wannabe Jason Salzman on the front page.

Is it because they agree with Hickenlooper’s statements and believe that all of us “backwards” people in rural Colorado and the western slope are two steps away from killing the next gay person we see?  Possibly, I know the far left is very fond of calling us racist, homophobes, etc. , but to accuse people of wanting to kill these people I don’t think Pols would go that far.

Although, the game of feigned outrage regarding Buck’s statements is comical, especially when compared to this incident of the offensive comments by Mayor Hickenlooper.  Does Mayor Hickenlooper and Colorado Pols believe that since I don’t live in Denver, I am backwards and want to kill homosexuals?  How bizarre is that comment, but yet not a peep from Colorado Pols.  They will tell you that the “insensitive” comments made regarding an alleged victim will cost Buck an election, but these statements nothing?

Is it because it hurts their “cause?”  I think there is no other way to explain it!  This non-coverage of this major campaign issue by this website proves that they are nothing but a fully owned subsidiary of the Democratic Party and they choose to ignore damaging issues to their candidates.  I have no issue with this site being an extension of the Democratic Party, I just wish they would fully disclose their stance.

Why was the Ken Buck “Meet the Press” comment attached to this site prior to the interview airing in Colorado?  Because it served this website’s purpose and viewpoint.  Anything Republican, especially Ken Buck equals bad.  Anything related to Democrats equal good.  They have attempted to make everything Ken Buck has done or said in the last three weeks the big “game changer” in the senate race.  Now when information that may completely sink one of their candidates is released they choose not to mention it.

Look at “The Big Line” to the left of this post.  It says “There’s no real argument for a scenario where Hick is not elected Governor in November.”  Well several polls released this week show Tancredo quickly closing in on Hickenlooper and I think the damaging statements made by Hickenlooper regarding a large group of people he is wanting to represent a “real scenario” that shows him losing.

I am sure there will be all kinds of spin released by Pols regarding Hick’s statement, but I am fully disappointed they did not mention the original story.  Politics, News & Inside Information?  No more like smear tactics and cover ups.

  1. Even if you only get your news (or “anti-Republican hate speech”) from Pols, this has been thoroughly digested already, No2. Some of your other screen names have even done little victory dances over it. Try to keep up, man! This is the Internet!

    1. on Coloradopols!  Coloradopols and the progressive shills who dominate the conversations are willing to post front page stories thoroughly digested on Buck.

The Golyansky case is 10 years old. The rape case decision is 5 years old. Yet Coloradopols editors felt the need to regurgitate time and time like a cow.

Your post RedGreen underscores the hypocrisy. Even us backward thinking inhabitants of rural Colorado can see the irony of the Hickenlooper statement. It was Ken Buck and rural Colorado who prosecuted the murderer of transvestite Angie Zapata employing hate crime legislation.  At the time, Buck was the first DA to use the statute.

Coloradopols tried to make hay (notice how my rural indoctrination results in country jargon) out of a comment Buck made regarding the origin of sexual orientation. Ignoring Ken Buck’s willingness to use a statute his urban and progressive peers have never used serves Pols agenda.

      1. I mean, you know, the tragic death of Matthew Shepard occurred in Wyoming. Colorado and Wyoming are very similar. We have some of the same, you know, backwards thinking in the kind of rural Western areas you see in, you know, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico.

The problem for your fake outrage is, this statement is entirely accurate. Do you even know what happened to Matthew Shepard in Wyoming? Well, one very charitable way to put it is Shepard was a victim of “backwards thinking.”

It’s the same “backwards thinking” that compares being born gay with alcoholism. And you can take your fake outrage and cram it up your ass.

Oh yeah, righties, you’re gonna win by making Hickenlooper more crazy than Tom Tancredo? This is going to be a fun week.

        1. not the entire state of Wyoming. So JeffcoBlue, enlighten us rural dwellers. Point us to the origins of a persons sexual orientation. Nature or Nurture? You have all the answers so obviously you can point us to the evidence that has settled this debate. Spare me the platitudes, just the facts that have led you to conclude that Ken Buck was wrong when he said he believed it was nurture but would not rule out nature.

          1. which has support LGBT rights and gay marriage for over 25 years.

            http://www.apa.org/helpcenter/

            Is sexual orientation a choice?

No, human beings cannot choose to be either gay or straight. For most people, sexual orientation emerges in early adolescence without any prior sexual experience. Although we can choose whether to act on our feelings, psychologists do not consider sexual orientation to be a conscious choice that can be voluntarily changed.

      2. and introduction, colawman. Originally it said BREAKING NEWS. I was just pointing out it was already being discussed elsewhere and had been for a while by the time he posted this. It’s worth discussing.

The Zapata murder underscores Hickenlooper’s point — these kind of crimes can happen in Colorado as easily as they can in Wyoming.

By the way, Greeley’s not rural. It’s one of the fastest growing areas in the country. It’s certainly a credit to Buck and his office and the Weld County jury that he made history with that conviction.

  2. I think Pols has a quota of at least two articles a day bashing Ken Buck (they may have done only one today – they’re going to get an earful from Stryker, Soros, Polis, or whoever pulls the Dead Guvs’ strings). You’re not going to hear a peep about any missteps from Hickenlooper; he is their patron saint, the one guy that is (supposed to be) a bright spot in an otherwise dark year for them.

    1. Like spending most of your free time on a website that you supposedly hate, helping them to make money and keep the website running.

The purpose of this website is for political insiders to share information and discuss news that the layman wouldn’t consider important.

Just about everybody here, and most especially everyone who reads or participates in the comments, has made up their mind already, so who cares whether they post 1000 anti-buck articles for every anti-hick article.

But really, if Buck didn’t provide so much ammo, maybe it would be more balanced.

        1. Well, you have to applaud someone who supports a candidate who will take their job.  It’s the first step in Tanc’s plan to save higher ed.  In so many words.

          1. and I doubt that much state money goes into that.  But Tank’s jihad against higher education would hurt CSU’s undergraduate programs terribly.  As for the beej, he’s not being noble so much as ignorant.  For a professed mathematician, he sure can’t do the math with Colorado politics.  Electing tank and passing the two of the three ugly three he’s now promoting would be basically the end of publicly supported higher education in Colorado.

            1. FYI, I voted against two of them.

CSU gets jack squat from the state government already because liberals stole all the money to protect their pet programs. So for me, voting for Tancredo is revenge upon those who squandered our higher ed funding.

              1. crap amendments like the one you supported.  Without Ref C CSU would have been screwed, glued and tatooed.

I didn’t say, btw, that you had endorsed the ugly three, though apparently you did back one of them.  I said

Electing tank and passing the two of the three ugly three he’s now promoting would be basically the end of publicly supported higher education in Colorado.

Tank originally backed the ugly three, now apparently buckpedaled and just wants the ugliest two to pass.

      1. I help them out; they air my conservative views. You’d probably be surprised to find out who reads this blog. I’ve seen Pols referenced in news stories before.

    1. you resort to juvenile name calling. Stifle the dissent is perfect Alinsky doctrine. Often you can be counted on for thoughtful and passionate debate.  Your deviation from the norm suggests conceding the point.

        1. Stick with brainwashing school children Ari, they are far more susceptible to your propaganda.

I did learn something from you today. When a progressive cannot logically argue a point they resort to suppression tactics.

          1. That mean ol’ Aristotle soundly criticized a wingnut and that SUPPRESSES them!

As I said, someone has to have a point in order to logically argue against it. No such point is present in this diary, and if YOU were so good at debate you would point it out.

Better check with a psychiatrist about those feelings of persecution. Not to mention your need to project the inability to argue upon someone else.

              1. But you won’t see me whining about “suppression” when it happens to me.

As far as your other comment, I’ll note that you failed to identify the point and tried to deflect my question. (If you are interested in why I’m called “Aristotle,” search for the Voyaguer-authored diary asking us how we polsters all came up with our handles. In my case, it isn’t what you assume it is.)

    1. Does he really want to be talking about this in the last week before the election?  To me Maes and Hick are trying to pull off what I thought was impossible, getting Tank elected.

I think it is a blessing and really dumb.

      1. Hick didn’t say anything of the sort this week. Of course he doesn’t want to be talking about it this week. It sounds like you’re blaming Hick for the NRO’s timing dropping this little bomb.

  3. So I have not seen anything regarding my accusations of Pols attempting to cover this incident up, does that mean we are all in agreement regarding the bias of this site?

Can we also agree that this site is unfairly targeting Ken Buck? I am still astonished that Pols will desperatley dig up anything they can on Buck, and blow it way out of proportion, but will just flat out ignore the reverse prejudice of a candidate for governor.

    1. We do agree that you’re a partisan idiot which inclines you to paranoid fantasies about Pols.

Pols leans left, no doubt about it, but it takes sheer fantasy to accuse them of a cover up just because they fail to cover some trifle with your preferred slant.

      1. Are you not partisan as well?  You say it like it is a bad thing.

They have not covered any of it let alone with any kind of slant. They have an opinion on everything Buck does why not this issue?

I really am ok with Pols leaning left as long as they own up to it and admit they are just a mouthpiece for the Democrats.

        1. First of all, I don’t have an antagonistic screen name, and actually give conservatives and Republicans a chance to make a reasonable point. Second of all, Pols is a commentary blog and not a reporting one (except in rare instances), so they can’t be accused of “covering up” stories. Especially stories that they allow participants to write diaries about.

And if you really believe Pols is a “mouthpiece for the Democrats” then what’s your reason for being here, other than to be obnoxious and thump your chest? Do you really want to be taken seriously? You haven’t shown much reason for that so far.

          1. I come here to be a part of this great discussion.  Sorry my name is antagonistic, but why not just come out and say what you believe?  I strongly support people just saying no to Democrats. It’s kinda like the political DARE program.

The reason why I am on this site is an attempt to let open minded people know there is a better solution to our issues in this country. The answer to bad government is not more government.

    2. Last I checked, a version of this story that was written a lot better than this one is on the front page of the site, despite the fact that nothing Hick said was inaccurate.

Meanwhile, Buck is comparing homosexuality to alcoholism and other wildly offensive things.

So do I think he is being “unfairly targeted”? Absolutely not.

Do I think that you REALLY wish that democrats were saying as many stupid things as republicans so that you didn’t look so ridiculous trying to defend your candidates? Yeah, yeah I do.
