The Get More Smarter Podcast: John Hickenlooper

  • by: Colorado Pols

We mentioned on Friday that we would have some bonus content for The Get More Smarter Podcast, and here it is: An in-depth interview with current U.S. Senate candidate and former Gov. John Hickenlooper.

Listen in as host Jason Bane talks with Hickenlooper about campaigning during coronavirus; what he thinks about the government response to COVID-19; what it’s like to be a Governor in a time of crisis; and the challenges of getting your hair cut during a quarantine.

If you missed last week’s episode, check it out when you’re done here.

    1. I’m way too tired of the news and dealings with this major Republican virus and pandemic to have enough concern or to get really worked up by just another ordinary minor Republican-lite senatorial wannabe, or his extended-play pablum infomercial . . .

      ——————

      . . . “Republican-lite”!!!

      . . . “Lite-Republican”!!!

Pfft.  Always have hated that entire genre of doltish commercials, anyway . . .

Whatever, jeeez, can we all agree now it’s still just shitty beer dreck?

      ——————

PS — if I ever do find myself so hopelessly bored that I ever listen to one of these podcasts . . .

. . . not gonna’ be cowed now by some measly Republican pandemic . . .

  1. It was a very softball interview, full of interesting anecdotes on McCain, etc,  long on how likable Hick is and that he did in fact sign Colorado’s Medicaid expansion, ( and may have influenced McCain in voting “No” on repeal).

At no point was Hickenlooper challenged on any of the reasons he is so unpopular with and mistrusted by progressive Democrats- his PUC appointment of an O&G lobbyist, his lawsuit against the people of Longmont and their fracking ban, his wavering opposition/support of legal cannabis in Colorado, etc.

Hick was allowed to just say that he likes to “meet the people where they’re at”, without exploring whether he is willing to meet people where they’re at on prioritizing health over profit.

    You didn’t miss much.
