  1. Trump stated at a campaign rally on January 23, 2016 that:

"I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose voters."

Just read that: FEMA enters the fight against COVID-19 with order for 100,000 body bags and 85 refrigerated trucks.

Elections have consequences. The narcissistic sociopath in the White House will get his wish many times over. He will lose voters. Sad times for our country.

    1. Tragic times, made far more tragic by an incompetent leader.

There is a small part of me that wonders how so many around #Trump can also be so incompetent – even the Pentagon just can't figure out where to send supplies while Governors are pleading for help. Can't you just hear the conversation between Trump and Putin. Here it is in a nutshell as Trump would describe it: Putin says, "Sir, you're doing a fine job bringing the United States to its knees, Sir."

  2. Good news from Florida.

"Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) undercut his own stay-at-home order by exempting religious services from that necessary step to slow the spread of the coronavirus."

Attend packed Easter services and MAGA.

  3. A nation out of emergency medical supplies and ventilators maintained so that they work . . .

. . . despair not, mere mortals.   MegaMAGA help is is on the way:

Trump Tackles Medical Supply Shortage by Awarding ExxonMobil Contract to Drill for Ventilators in Arctic

WASHINGTON—Saying there was no way the coronavirus could win with such amazing corporations on their side, President Donald Trump kicked off his plan to tackle the medical supply shortage Tuesday by awarding ExxonMobil an exclusive contract to drill for ventilators in the arctic. “Today, the heroic crews at ExxonMobil will travel to Alaska’s Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, where they will drill 6,000 feet below the earth in search of new, undiscovered mechanical breathing devices,” said Trump, signing the $86 billion deal that gave the oil company sole access to survey, drill, and extract from over 30,000 square miles of “vast, untapped reservoirs of respiratory ventilators.”

    1. Well, duh.

"Kelly Brogan, a Goop contributor and associate of Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow, has been posting videos to her large online following claiming the coronavirus likely doesn’t exist.

Brogan claimed that “there is potentially no such thing as the coronavirus” because “it’s not possible to prove that any given pathogen has induced death,” and that the rising death toll caused by the virus is “likely being accelerated by the fear [of the virus] itself.”

  4. A person would just have to be a goddamned fool to believe anything coming out of the Orange House:

Trump Sees Hope for Boosting Global Oil Prices and Helping U.S. Firms

Neither Russia nor Saudi Arabia publicly committed to such a cut, and a Saudi statement issued on Thursday called only for a meeting of oil producing nations to reach a “fair agreement.” The Kremlin cast further doubt on the possibility, denying a claim that Mr. Trump made on Twitter that Mr. Putin had discussed the matter with the crown prince.

      1. At least there’s reason to hope for a quick death . . .

Jared Kushner Is Going to Get Us All Killed

Reporting on the White House’s herky-jerky coronavirus response, Vanity Fair’s Gabriel Sherman has a quotation from Jared Kushner that should make all Americans, and particularly all New Yorkers, dizzy with terror.

According to Sherman, when New York’s governor, Andrew Cuomo, said that the state would need 30,000 ventilators at the apex of the coronavirus outbreak, Kushner decided that Cuomo was being alarmist. “I have all this data about I.C.U. capacity,” Kushner reportedly said. “I’m doing my own projections, and I’ve gotten a lot smarter about this. New York doesn’t need all the ventilators.” (Dr. Anthony Fauci, the country’s top expert on infectious diseases, has said he trusts Cuomo’s estimate.)

Even now, it’s hard to believe that someone with as little expertise as Kushner could be so arrogant, but he said something similar on Thursday, when he made his debut at the White House’s daily coronavirus briefing: “People who have requests for different products and supplies, a lot of them are doing it based on projections which are not the realistic projections.”

        1. It's too bad our resident p.o.s gun fondlers are laying low. We need expert advice regarding whether the time has come to start exercising our Second Amendment remedies.
