Happy St. Patrick's Day!
No parades or bars or even Mass for the faithful, but later today those of us who are so inclined will enjoy a wee dram.
Later? I'm having a beer with lunch. Scottish, but close enough.
Shame that I don't have any cabbage, though. I usually like to have cabbage, potato, and onion soup at this time of year.
Thanks. You too.
Nearly completely forgot that I’ve still got a corned-beef brisket in the freezer from last year; I just took it out. Won’t get it thawed in time to cook for today, but maybe this weekend.
(I probably wouldn’t normally count four days late as St. Patrick’s Day, but well, what’s “normal” now anyway? . . . Maybe I’ll call around and see if I can find a neighbor who’ll leave me a wedge of cabbage on their porch? . . .)
Went over to Clancy's Irish Pub in Wheat Ridge today and snagged a corned beef dinner and shepherd's pie combo for take-out. I'm having my St. Pádraig's Day in style, if not with as many people around me.
Ohh, I envy you. I'd kill for good Irish corned beef and cabbage.
Go raibh maith agat!
i.e. Ta.
Is it wrong that my grandmother taght me that "wee" means something like 4 four or more and my grandfather taught me that "dram" means something bigger than a pint?
Coronavirus testing . . .
. . . is there an App for that?
Yet?
Elections have [^dire] consequences . . .
Good news … Google (well, a subsidiary of Alphabet named Verily, making it sort an infant sister to Google), has its site up.
It may not be ready for prime time, however: Google’s coronavirus screening website is live, but it’s not the resource you want
The Illinois primary is a full-on dumpster fire.
We're losing Congressional representation fast. Visits by an infected constituent have both Sen. Gardner and Rep. Crow under self-quarantine. No idea if it's the same constituent in both cases, but at a guess that's a "yes". Both men are okay so far.
