“It is certain, in any case, that ignorance, allied with power, is the most ferocious enemy justice can have.”
–James Baldwin

Good luck, Senator Leahy.
And also good luck to you, Chief Justice Roberts. (What does 'preside' mean, anyway?)
Baldwin is great.
But I'm thinking about Franklin now.
"If you can keep it." ~ B. Franklin
The Flag in the Whirlwind
Speaking of
whirlwinds…Trump#StableGenius attacks windmills in rambling speechYou might think that having a Senator from the majority party who purportedly speaks to *rump every day might have enlightened him on both the enormous benefits in his old congressional district and the thousands of Front Range Coloradans who work at the three Vestas facilities?
I’m beginning to think I’m under-represented in the hallowed halls of Congress.
Guess that's what happens when you elect a tractor salesman as your Junior Senator.
I have to hand it to Gardner, he's my second favorite U.S. Senator from Colorado. And he earned that spot.
So many things not to understand.
– 10-15 flush toilets
– dishwashers that don't wash
– E-Verify
– B1 visas for maids and housekeepers
– wind
– coal
– solar
– Russian influence
– the Panama Papers
– and on and on and on
– Lightbulbs
– Christmas decorating
– Geography
– Tying a necktie
– Staring into the sun
. . . I guess there’s nothing you really ever need to understand as long as you’ve got enough Sharpies . . .
. . . and enough toadies?
…or why you'd consider spending $1billion (pre-construction) to buy a Florida trailer park that will be underwater before your grandchildren expire to locate your presidential library? (which will likely only house one book? OK, maybe two, assuming
Jesus, Inc. Liberty University will demand a signed copy of Two Corinthians be displayed as well). Why does that feel fitting somehow?
Particularly if they include a statue of Vanilla Ice in the gilded foyer?
I like this picture of flooded Mar A Lago. Most of the eastern and southern coast and tip of Florida is already losing land and seasonally flooded.
It’s only going to get worse.
I feel bad for all the seniors who retired there, for Cape Canaveral, for the vibrant Cuban culture in Miami, for all that we’ll lose as a country.
I don’t feel bad for the Trump family , nor for “Ice, Ice, baby.”
It’s fitting because
Putin’sDuh-merica’s Stable Genius Defaulter in Chief has spent pretty much his entire adult life under water . . .. . . and, well, they’re be no Ttump dollars in that project, anyway — maybe it can be part of his border wall scam, though? — and I’m certain, beyond any doubt, that Mexico won’t be paying for this little yuge vanity project either . . .
…or how the Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee’s Subcommittee on East Asia, the Pacific, and International Cybersecurity Policy missed this little nugget?
If the president was serious about preventing NK nuclear development, things would blow up. Anything else is balogna.
.
I think you are correct, oh, mad one.
Merry new year to you too.
