  1. Good luck, Senator Leahy.

And also good luck to you, Chief Justice Roberts. (What does 'preside' mean, anyway?)

    Baldwin is great.

But I'm thinking about Franklin now.

"If you can keep it." ~ B. Franklin

  2. The Flag in the Whirlwind

"Of course, we appreciate the support and listen humbly to the criticisms. But at the end of the day, we write for a readership of One. God is our Tower. Let the whirlwind come."

"Out of love for Jesus and his church, not for political partisanship or intellectual elitism, this is why we feel compelled to say that the alliance of American evangelicalism with this presidency has wrought enormous damage to Christian witness. It has alienated many of our children and grandchildren. It has harmed African American, Hispanic American, and Asian American brothers and sisters. And it has undercut the efforts of countless missionaries who labor in the far fields of the Lord. While the Trump administration may be well regarded in some countries, in many more the perception of wholesale evangelical support for the administration has made toxic the reputation of the Bride of Christ."

  3. Speaking of  whirl winds…

    “I never understood wind”

Trump #StableGenius attacks windmills in rambling speech

You might think that having a Senator from the majority party who purportedly speaks to *rump every day might have enlightened him on both the enormous benefits in his old congressional district and the thousands of Front Range Coloradans who work at the three Vestas facilities?

I’m beginning to think I’m under-represented in the hallowed halls of Congress.

    1. Guess that's what happens when you elect a tractor salesman as your Junior Senator.

I have to hand it to Gardner, he's my second favorite U.S. Senator from Colorado.  And he earned that spot.

    2. So many things not to understand.
      – 10-15 flush toilets
      – dishwashers that don't wash
      – E-Verify
      – B1 visas for maids and housekeepers
      – wind
      – coal
      – solar
      – Russian influence
      – the Panama Papers
      – and on and on and on

      1. – Lightbulbs

        – Christmas decorating

        – Geography

        – Tying a necktie

        – Staring into the sun

. . . I guess there’s nothing you really ever need to understand as long as you’ve got enough Sharpies . . .

        . . . and enough toadies?

        1. …or why you'd consider spending $1billion (pre-construction) to buy a Florida trailer park that will be underwater before your grandchildren expire to locate your presidential library? (which will likely only house one book?  OK, maybe two, assuming Jesus, Inc. Liberty University will demand a signed copy of Two Corinthians be displayed as well).

Arena, an avid Trump supporter, says he thinks he can convince the president to buy the land and turn it into a personal monument. Arena said he has the ball rolling by reaching out to his friend, rapper and Palm Beach County resident Vanilla Ice, who is close to the Trump family.

“Vanilla Ice ran it by Donald Jr.,” Arena said of the president’s eldest son. “He called me back and said, ‘Man, I think they’re really into it.’”

            1. Particularly if they include a statue of Vanilla Ice in the gilded foyer?

Vanilla Ice has been savaged by critics who decry his style of rap as homogenized, been called a fake because he appeared to exaggerate his background to appear more “street-wise,” and branded a virtual imperialist who is ripping off black culture.

And if he ever gets any spare time, Ice can turn to his little black book with 300 phone numbers–90% of them “actual conquests,” he reportedly told Rolling Stone magazine.

              1. I like this picture of flooded Mar A Lago. Most of the eastern and southern coast and tip of Florida is already losing land and seasonally flooded.

It’s only going to get worse.

I feel bad for all the seniors who retired there, for Cape Canaveral, for the vibrant Cuban culture in Miami, for all that we’ll lose as a country.

I don’t feel bad for the Trump family , nor for “Ice, Ice, baby.”

            2. It’s fitting because Putin’s Duh-merica’s Stable Genius Defaulter in Chief has spent pretty much his entire adult life under water . . .

. . . and, well, they’re be no Ttump dollars in that project, anyway — maybe it can be part of his border wall scam, though? — and I’m certain, beyond any doubt, that Mexico won’t be paying for this little yuge vanity project either . . .
