This week on The Get More Smarter Podcast, Congressmen Ken Buck (R-Greeley) and Doug Lamborn (R-Colorado Springs) test out some odd impeachment defense strategies; Senator Cory Gardner (R-Yuma) celebrates two years without a town hall event; Colorado Republicans promote a pointless new ballot measure; and the “fairy godmother” of the #resistance, Jessica Zender, plays America’s worst favorite game show, “Duke or Donald.”

I do listen to the GMS podcasts. Congratulations on having another female guest. That makes 2 out of the 18 GMS podcasts, and 2 out of the 6 GMS podcasts that had guests.
When it was the Get More Smarter Show, you had 4 female guests (Morgan Carroll, Diana Degette, Cary Kennedy, Dickie Lee Hullinghorst ) out of 31 episodes, 23 of which had guests. So 4/23 of the old show guests and 2/6 of the new podcast guests are female.
Try to do better, fellas. Women are leading in journalism and elected offices everywhere, every day. People need to see women leading as commonplace, not exotic or weird.
Your Quotes of the Day also need to represent diverse voices of our collective political and cultural wisdom; while I’m not about to do an exhaustive count and comparison, in a typical month, I think we see about 3/30 of the daily quotes from female writers.
People of color are also under-represented as GMS guests- Joe Negeuse and Joe Salazar are the only not-white GMS interviewees that I recall in the 2 years we’ve been getting more smarter. Truly, getting smarter requires hearing unconventional wisdom from people who usually are not heard.
Please do better.
I’m putting this “rant” in comments because you chose not to reply to a polite email.
