President Trump infamously said that his base was so loyal that he “could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue” in New York City and not lose any support. Last month, one of Trump’s attorneys made an honest-to-goodness
I do believe (hope) that they would desert him if he raped a 13-year-old girl and then shot her to prevent her testifying against him.
And there you have it … on air confirmation there is a Trump cult of true believers. Unreachable by discussion or argument. Short of deprogramming or other intrusive psychological techniques, I'm not certain what can be done.
It does sway me to find and support a Democratic candidate who can drive turnout. To find and support organizations registering new voters and preparing to GOTV a year from now.

I would say the same thing. If someone was charging him with a knife and he was defending himself – then that's reasonable. Context is everything.
Really David, because like Trump, you want to brag that you have a messianic cult of followers? If someone was charging Trump with a knife, his ever-present, Secret Service detail-for-life would do any shooting necessary.
If Trump had a gun, he’d just be doing it for the pure thrill.
My point is it's reasonable to ask for context.
And, on that note, in the context of Ttump’s statement, . . .
. . . what The Chosen One was saying was that his supporters would let him get away with murder. (i.e., it had absolutely nothing to do with self-defense in the face of a hypothetical knife-wielding assailant.)
And, he was broken-calendar right about those somethings.
